Cookn,

I'd say you are way more versed on nutritional factoids of this than me. I got the article off a site that basically promotes whole natural foods called World's Healthiest Foods. I take it as I do everything with a tempered view. Mostly I saw it as valuable for promoting non processed foods and carbs as serving a valuable form of energy. I would say the typical Western diet, whatever the makeup of carbs, protein and fats is plain AWFUL. Any move to better choices is good in my book.

I find "dieters" that come to Jesus this time of year go one extreme or the other. Either they start downing plates of bacon and cheese as new Atkins diciples or they restrict themselves to Cool Whip and Sugar Free Jello and chain themselves to treadmills, either way, they quit and go back to daily McDonald's and Couch sitting when they don't get the lean hard body they see in the magazines in 10 days.

I hadn't known the chemical makeup of different sources of carbs, so that part I found interesting. I also found your follow up infomation valuable! Thanks for that. I'm glad you saw some value to the information, but I cannot provide any hard science to back it all up. As you said, reasearch is ongoing and ever changing. Thanks for the feedback.
