Recovery Time

I'm guess I am just asking for some opinions on this subject. How long does it take a muscle to FULLY heal after a properly intense workout ? I've read one expert said it takes at least 5-7 days, so you should only train each bodypart once a week. I also know recovery has a lot to do with a proper diet and proper rest. I have read many posts that state some of you guys or gals train the same bodyparts 2 or even 3 times a week. Personally, I really think it comes down to the intensity of the workout. My meaning of intensity is this, when you can't do any more reps in your set... do 2 more reps, break thru the mental block in your mind that says you "can't" do another rep. That's just my 2 cents. Okay, maybe it isn't worth 2 cents, but I welcome opinions on this subject. One more note, I am new to this board, about 3 or 4 days I believe, so if a question similar to this has already been posted, I apologize. Stay strong !!!
