If you are a member of other forums then you probably have some experience with the reputation system. Its just been activated here, so please use it. At the top of someones post will be a little scale which when you click will ask you approve/disapprove of that message. In addition you will have to provide a short reason or comment as to your decision. Here is the rep breakdown:
-999999 User is infamous around these parts
-50 User can only hope to improve
-10 User has a little shameless behaviour in the past
0 User is an unknown quantity at this point
10 User is on a distinguished road
50 User will become famous soon enough
150 User has a spectacular aura about
250 User is a jewel in the rough
350 User is just really nice
450 User is a glorious beacon of light
550 User is a name known to all
650 User is a splendid one to behold
1000 User has much to be proud of
1500 User has a brilliant future
2000 User has a reputation beyond repute
If someone takes the time to give you a great response, give them a rep point. If someone gives some crappy advice, give them some negative rep. Please dont show favoritism or negative rep someone because you have conflicting views or begin to have an online argument. You must spread the rep before you re-rep the person.
Tony...
1 - can we see who has repped us?
2 - how can we see how repped we are?
3 - how can we see how repped other users are?
4 - do mod reps count as double?
At this point, no. The feature should be turned on soon enough. Once it has been then you will see four things: thread being repped, date, from who, their comment.

2 - how can we see how repped we are?
If you click on user cp, at the bottom it will show how many reps you've been given, for what posts, and tell you your total points.

3 - how can we see how repped other users are?
You cannot see their total points, but if you put your cursor over the little (or large depending on rep) green box in their profile or one of their posts. It will display their current rep message, see above.
mods have extra power. i think it starts like +1 for users, +5 for mods, +10 for admins ... from there we all go up equally. Every 10 points gives you one more +1 rep power .... i think. I haven't really looked into it, but this is what I think it does
start with 10r
1p for every 150 days registered
1p for every 100 posts
1p for every 25 rep
minimum 10 posts before your rep counts on others
minimum 11r before your rep counts on others
The rep points scale has been adjusted as follows:
-1000 User is a complete loser

-100 User can only hope to improve

0 User is an unknown quantity at this point
100 User is on a distinguished road

1000 User has a spectacular aura about
2000 User is a jewel in the rough
3000 User is just really nice
5000 User is a glorious beacon of light
6500 User is a name known to all
8000 User is a splendid one to behold
10500 User has much to be proud of
14000 User has a brilliant future
20000 User has a reputation beyond repute
You'll notice if you hover over your rep bar. The bar length is not working so well with these adjustments and is being looked into.

Should these be reviewed again, along with bar length? I repped a newb yesterday and they gained about 5 green bars
