| | | Do cardio anything, running, swimming, cycling, aerobics, etc. You need to lose weight over your whole body to lose fat in your thighs and butt.
If your weight is already fine, then you can try a body sculpting class, running, lower body weight machines, Pilates focussing on the lower body, etc.
You won't lose the fat so much with the strengthening excercizes, but the muscles under the fat would get firm and toned.
I think this is the wrong section for ths post, but I'm not a moderator. I think this is where people put fitness articles. |

| | | trogdor, are you male or female? Women are supposed to be somewhat shapely.
If you're a male, that's probably just where your fat gets stored. Be glad it's not around the mid section. Weight carried around the middle is a precursor to many health problems including diabetes.
When you say relatively skinny, exactly what does that mean? What's your BMI? I'm relatively skinny compared to most Americans, but not compared to myself a few years ago (my BMI is 24.) If you have a BMI of 25 or higher, you're overweight, but not obese. Have you taken measurements of your ass with a tape measure and compared it to your waist? How many inches difference are we talking here? |

| | | Someone else will have to answer the bulking question, I don't know much about gaining weight on purpose. A three inch difference in diameter is not very much. I wonder if a lot of the extra weight on your ass is muscle. Do you work it out a lot? |
