This has helped my Mother Alot.

For the past 5 years, my mother has lived with terrible health. She simply had no motivation to start losing weight.

So last March my Mother decided to change herself. She was 299 Pounds. She joined Curves, became a trainer, and now is happier then ever. Right now she is 242 Pounds. She has lost 57 pounds and still rolling.

Anyway, there were 5 factors that helped my Mother lose her weight:
1.) Self- Motivation
2.) Exercise
3.) Support
4.) Water
5.) Breakfast

Self-Motivation
-------------------
Simply put, you can only change if you want to change. You should never do fitness just so you could bench more then another person. Fitness should be done for yourself, for your health. If you have no motive, then why bother? Look in the mirror, if your not happy with yourself then do something about it!

Exercise
-----------------
As much as all overweight people hate it, you have to exercise! Theres really no excuse. For 5 years my mother was stubborn about this. She tried dieting alone. She did lose a few pounds, but then when she stopped losing weight she gave up and quickly gained it back, and then some. Exercise burns body fat, keeps your metabolism high, and you will have more energy throughout the day. If your not use to exercise, then start small. Do about 30 minutes of walking a day. After 2 weeks start brisk walking. And then when you get used to it, you can even start jogging. (depending on your condition). Its not Duration, its intensity!

Support
-------------------
Support can be unneccery, but it really helps. Everytime I ask my Mother her weight, and she tells me she lost 1-2 pounds or so I always congratulate her. Puts a smile on her face. Another good trick is to tell your sibilings (if you have to) that your on a diet and it would be supportive if they bought healthy food and such.

Water
--------------------
Yes, and lots of it. My Mother never used to drink water. Now she drinks water often. Before, she was just losing water weight and not fat. Thats what threw her off her tracks. You Should Drink at least 2 litters of water a day to flush your system.

Eating-Breakfast
-------------------
Yes, don't skip Breakfast. It may seem logical but really its not. You should always eat breakfast in the morning because this is when you metabolism is slow. Think about it! You haven't eaten for 7-12 hours. Get some food in you to get your metabolism going. This may also help your appetite.

I hope this article helped some of you, the 5 factors I posted have changed my Mothers life.
