Alcohol and Weight Training, Sex and Weight Training
I have noticed whenever I drink on the weekends I lift much less then I do when I don’t drink. I am unfortunately not willing to give up drinking (you only live once) and looking for advice on how I can damper the effects of alcohol on my work out routine.
I have tried to saturate myself with water after a good night of drinking with limited results. Is there any food I can take, any specific vitamins that may help or am I SOL?
Also, a strange question!
I have a veracious appetite for sex, requiring 1-2 sessions of nookie-boom-boom a day. Now my question is this: Does the nookie-boom-boom have positive or negative effects on my testosterone levels? I have heard it argued both ways and looking for a straight answer!
Oh, I know - wrap my tool, oral is morale blah blah blah!

ive heard that you shouldnt go to sleep drunk, so you should stay up and sober up before you go to bed, that way, instead of fixing the "drunk damage" your body can focus on the other stuff.

Alcohol consumption interferes with protein synthesis. Sex, on the other hand, releases testosterone, which helps protein synthesis. Unfortunately, these to won't offset each other. Alcohol has a negative impact on body building, as well as brain wave activity. You won't reach good REM sleep with booze in your system...

LOL...Does nookie-boom-boom mean by yourself or with someone?
In reference to your drinking and being weak. Alcohol actually doesn't affect protein synthesis per say but it is related to your blood glucose (energy). Your bodies ability to make glucose following large alcohol intake is reduced by over 50% which explains the post-party fatigue.
Also when you consume a lot of alcohol faster than your body can breakdown you produce an acid similar to lactic acid which can cause sore muscles similar to post-workout soreness. I don't know if you ever felt sore after drinking...

Nookie - boom - boom will make any girl laugh... it doesn't matter how well you know her, how long you've known her or how uptight she is when you say those magic words you will surely get a laugh.

I'm sure no matter what you say, they end up laughing at you. Sorry, had to do it.

If drinking is more important than your body then thats fine. But there is nothing you can do about the after effects of drinking apart from drinking less.
When you drink, try cutting down.

I have the answer!!!!!
If drinking dampers protein synthesis, and sex promotes protein synthesis, why not "get drunk and screw?"
At least that way you break even..... 8-P

try changing WHAT you drink. Assuming you drink for the feeling and not soley for the taste, drink liqour instead of beer, it will take less of it to get you drunk & and wont fill you up as much. As for what type of liqour, vodka & soda is known to be the least harmful in dietary terms (its what all the skinny bitches in LA drink....and me). Also, I dont know much about glucose level and protein synthesis, but I do know a serious hangover cuts my time in the gym down, so an important thing to learn is when to stop.... The only difference six drinks & twelve drinks will make is how ****ty your morning is. Also if you do feel like ****, water is the best thing, alcohol thins your blood & dehydrates you...not good conditions in which to find yourself under a heavy metal bar. Water water water.
On a sie note, try throwing up before you go to sleep rather than the next morning. And a freezing ice cold shower DOES sober you up a bit... so try that.
