My arms grow and nothing els.

Ever since i started working out i have never been one of those guys that just does curls his whole workout. I want big legs, arms, chest and back as well. I have pretty much always followed a routine that does not single out any part of my body but for some reason my arms just grow way more then everything els. I do 6 sets of zottomon curls 5-7 reps and 5 sets of Bar-bell curls 5-7 reps the whole week. Why are my arms growing and nothing els?

Maybe your arms take over and do a lot of the work on your pressing and pulling?

When you do rows, think of your arms as hooks and think of pulling the elbows back, nothing else. practice with very light weight and relax the forearms at first, and focus on pulling with the elbows and see if you notice a difference in your back muscles.

Try working your arms last. Might help!

Im no expert but maybe try doing alittle less on the arms and work the other muscles for 3 months or so and see how it goes.

I started training 10 years ago and noticed, like you, that my arms gained muscle much easier than the rest of my body.
After taking advice I discovered the best results came from doing virtually no arm exercises at all. I now go for months without training my arms and yet still they are the most impressive part of my anatomy.
I do believe there is a tendency for us to overtrain, thinking more work = bigger muscles.
Sometimes, especially where body-building is concerned, LESS IS MORE!

I'm with Tom here. Obviously your arms grow easily...you shouldn't be focusing on all that arm work!

drop most of your curls, and work on your back! pull-ups, deadlifts, barbell rows. LOVE THEM.

i also agree with yi5hedr3 and Karky...arms should be last in your routine (and even skipped occasionally) and make sure you're using your back muscles for back exercises and not 90% biceps.

on trick that works there is using straps and doing some lat pulldowns. don't grip the bar very tight...let hte straps keep it in your hands. then really focus on pulling your ELBOWS down, and feel the emphasis in the back and make sure your biceps aren't straining. drop some weight off the stack too for this...it should be work, but lower it so you can do it easier and focus more on your muscles, less on the 'workout'.

you should always be evaluating your form and what your muscles are doing. no one's an expert at this without years of experience, and learning from lots of others who share their wisdom.

Doing no exercises for your arms is a good idea. When you exercise you do exercises for your back you are using your biceps for the pull and when you do exercises for your chest and shoulders you are using your triceps to push so your arms are getting exercised indirectly every time you go to the gym, unless you have a leg day . When you are happy with the results, when you see the balance is back, then you can start exercising your arms directly again.
