Sternum

I was just wondering if anyone here has an (at least slightly) inverted sternum. I do, and while mine isn't to the point of needing surgery, it definitely changes how my chest looks. Basically, I'm unsure of whether gaining muscle on my pecs will exacerbate the look or whether it might cover it up. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

It should be fine. Just make sure that the workouts you do focus on the INNER pecs as much as anything else e.g. dips

My sternum is inverted on one side. When I had no pecs it was very noticable. As I developed some meat on my chest it became less noticable, until now, I have to point it out to someone and they have to look closely to see it. So I would say go for it, more muscle mass could only help.

the pecs are one muscle you cant train just the inner, its attached at the sternum and the humourous (spelling) and nothing inbetween so when you engage the muscle it contracts all the way along.

The fibers in the pectoral run in different directions and you can target certain fiber groups.

Yes there are two different directions, its also attatched to the clavicle. You cant single it out but you can focus on a site.
