Swimmer's body?

Anyone here knows how to achieve a swimmer's body? Do you just swim all the time, or do you have to mix it with other weight trainings? I want to have a lean, soft muscular body, not like those hard solid body through intense weight trainings.

Anyone?

a swimmer only looks 'soft' because they haven't stripped down all the extra body fat like a body builder would do.
too little fat, and you lose a lot of boyancy, and end up a little deepr in the water, thus more resistance.

The only reason the "swimmers body" is popular is because its the only sport where women see guys only wearing Y's and they wax there whole body.

you'll find that most "explosive" sportsmen look like that. i.e. sprinters.

Haha, I'm not sure about that. I swam in high school, and the swimmer's body was usually lithe and lean. More feminine than a bodybuilder - but women dig that probably more than they do big builds.

A lot of it has to do with the fact that you're stretching the full length of your body as you perform your strokes - so your muscles tend to be longer and more flexible -- whereas bodybuilders tend to become more restricted by their muscle-growth. More concetrated slow-twitch muscle rather than sparse powerful fast-twitch muscle.

The Swimmers Body

To achieve the “look” of the swimmers body you will need to do some weights on top of your swimming (or other cardio).

Most top swimmers will spend 4 – 6 hours a day in the pool and most of these will also do dry land work. Many of these professional swimmers will still not have the classic look as their body fat will be higher.

If your goal is the classic V shape, six pack and broad shoulders check out:
