Taking a week off but I have a few questions
Hi everybody,
I've been reading for a while on some training routines and one of the suggestions I've encountered continually is that I should be taking a full week off with no training. I realized that I've been training for a full year and no sustained breaks! Lately, also, I've been down with the flu so I thought that this may be a good time. I have a couple questions before I do this, though.
1. Should I preform some light cardio? Doing nothing would drive me crazy
2. What does your diet look like when you take a week off. Surplus or maintenance? I know the muscles must grow with a surplus but would it not go towards bodyfat if I am not training? I thought of making the surplus smaller (aka 250 instead of 500). Would that work?
Any help here would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks!

Its only a week, so I don't think it would make a negative impact if you were to keep up with your calorie intake. Your body will still be repairing, so its probably a good idea to maintain the surplus for that week.

I always just keep doing what I'm doing in regards to calories.
If you feel up to it do some cardio, if you're totally fried relax completely, or maybe just do something different like hiking, walking etc just so you don't feel like a turd

Thanks guys. I'll keep my diet the same and maybe do some hiking for cardio. Then I'll just sleep when I get home from work :P
