Direct visual resistence?

G'day does anyone out there know anything about Direct Visual Resistence
(DVR's) i 've heard alot about DVR's & how you can get a really good workout from creating tension in your own muscles & you can create your own tension by imagining that your lifting a heavy weight or pushing a mountain, also the idea is to put your mind into the muscle, does anyone know anything on this subject or people who practice it.?
Aussie digger; It may be similiar to dynamic tension.?

I read something about it a while back, tests were done on untrained individuals and those that just focus on the thought of lifting weights gained muscle but those that didn't stayed the same.

It was in Mens Health though so possibly a load of BS
