| | | I rarely get my period Let me point out that I'm not complaining! I love never getting my period but I just wonder how normal this is
I get my period probably about twice a year? Maybe 3 times, 4 times tops! For example the last time I got my period was January! No, I'm not pregnant. It has been like this ever since I've started getting my period (I'm 21).
I've never met any other women who gets her period so infrequently. I've told some other girls at my old job and they thought it was bizarre. So if anyone else out there gets their period as seldom as me please tell me
Oh, I haven't been to a gynocologist for like a little over a year (time to go, I know). I can't remember what I was told as far as this being normal

No offense but I thought before this post that you were a man! I just looked at your profile and we are into almost all the same things I am I'm also 21. I don't have a daughter but I do have an old man for a boyfriend
Anywho, was your period ever regular and then it became irregular? How did you fix the cyst problem? Surgery?

| | | No, I really hated birth control. I was on depo for a while, that made my period completely go away. I found out it was bad for your bones so I got off of it. I was on the pill for a while too and both types of BC really messed with my hormones. I gained weight and had no sex drive....
Are you saying you got the cyst because your period was irregular? Or are you saying your period was irregular and that was a sign of a cyst?

| | | irregular menses Hi,
I am a midwife and I just thought I would respond. It is never normal not to menstruate monthly. Unless you are on hormonal birth control it can be in fact dangerous over time to menstruate so infrequently. Providing you have normal estrogen levels infrequent menses is a risk factor for endometrial cancer over time. You need to see your gyn for an evaluation. I make sure my patients bleed at least every 2 months via homonal means if necessary. Of course it could be something simple like your thyroid but get evaluated.

The way I keep it under control is through birth control. Are you on BC at all? | That is most definately a turn off. |

| | | Abnormal menstruation can come from lack of Vitamin A
Also, i mean not to scare you in anyway. However what is happening to you suggest a Endocrine malfunction and anytime your Endocrine system is not functioning correctly it can mean serious problems in the long run.
I would suggest you get to the gynecologist ASAP. If it is a hormone problem you 'Should' be redirected to a "Endocrinologist's" |
