| | | Period Question for the ladies... When I h ave my period, I often times find that when I use the bathroom or stand in the shower, I feel like all of my insides are going to drop out. I know that sounds weird, but that's exactly what it feels like. Take today for ex. I was standing in the shower after my workout and all of a sudden, I got this overwhelming sensation that there was going to be a big gush and everything in there was going to come out.
Is this normal? I have always had this, but is it normal to experience something like this? And what is it? Why do I feel that? |

| | | It sounds to me like what you are feeling is the uterus contracting to expel the lining. I would not be concerned about it. Have you had children before? If it really bothers you, you could try using heat to relax the uterus a little so the feeling is not so strong, it helps to relieve the pressure. |

Yeah, I'm a mom of 3 kids. The thing is, it doesn't ache in my belly area. It aches *down there*. I know a contraction...that is not what I'm feeling. |

Think about what happens to your body when you are having your period and that explains a lot about the feelings you are having. I'm so glad I don't have to go through that any more I remember how much it sucked. |

Jenn, thanks. I may get it looked into. I have always had it. I thought I had seen once that you shouldn't feel like that, but then again, I don't know. LOL Maybe I will see what it says on the web.... |

| | | I don't have any idea of what causes it but I think I know what you're talking about, I remember feeling that sensation when I was standing in line in the school cafeteria as a teenager and being worried about it...since then I've experienced it occasionally (I'm now 32) and I've never had any kinds of problems or complications so I'm thinking it's just something normal. |
