I don't know if I'm having some withdrawals from that stuff. help It's not like I'm craving to get high or anythin. |

| | | What time of the day do you workout?
Do you take any supplements?
Have you ever considered taking ZMA? |

| | | I usually work out around the late afternoon or around 6-7PM. I usually get tired around 11-12 and try to go to bed. I do not take any supplements at all.
ZMA...never tried that. does it help? |

| | I don't tell people to take supplements unless they are fully aware of what the supplement is and feel that it is right for them.
Do a search for ZMA and see if it is right for you. It helps me a GREAT deal. |

btw I picked up some ZMA. should I only take it on days I'm working out or take it everyday? the bottle doesn't tell me much except take 2 @ bedtime. |

| | hasn't really worked for me.
I told my dad to let me see a sleep doctor/specialist or whatever. he just keeps telling me that they will prescribe me to a sleeping pill/drug and he doesn't want me getting hooked to that stuff.

It's hard for my brain to just turn off.
usually it's like I'm always thinkin inside my head. Either of stuff to do , what went on today or a song stuck in my head. |

I'm my case, I think about lifting weights. I don't think about the plan or progress, rather the lifts themselves. |

Take a look at any stimulants you take, like caffein (cola, coffee, chocolate), especially if taken after 3 or 4 pm in the afternoon. Switch to water or non-caffeniated drinks in the afternoon, or cut out all coffee, soda, energy drinks, supplements that have stimulants, etc. Red Bull and those other energy drinks are designed to give people a boost, and always have a big stimulant effect on me.
I don't want to seem presumptious about your age, but because you mentioned asking your father to take you to the doctor, I'm assuming you're under 18. You may be going through a time of growth where your body is producing extra hormones that are stimulating you. If you go through periods where you are extremely hyper mentally, then crash, you should tell your doctor about it, but if it just seems like this is your new "normal", then you might look at some other mental exercises to get rid of what I call "busy mind".
I usually get about 5 hours sleep a night until the weekends, and then I get closer to 7 and a half. But I'm 50, so at my age, its not unusual to sleep less (we think we're going to die soon, so don't want to waste what time is left sleeping!)
I used to get thinking about things, then not be able to sleep, and then the anxiety about not being able to sleep upset me, further compromising my ability to fall asleep. I finally realized that even if I can't actually sleep, my body needs the rest, so I stay in bed and try to relax. I force myself to slow my breathing and relax every part of my body, starting with my toes, then my feet, then my legs, etc. Thinking about each part of my body and trying to visualize that part relaxing ... even "feeling" the muscles start to relax ... often allows me to slow down enough to sleep. |

| | | i know this is a little late but Im also 19 and have that sleeping problem. and its weird because ill be really tired kinda early especially now with my schedule at school, but doesnt matter how exhausted I am, at night it will take me at the least a half hour to fall asleep. and its also taken up to 3 HOURS! what helps me tho is i usually have a fan on because the noise is helpful. although im not sure i suggest that because for some people it would become something they ALWAYS need which is not good because you might not always have one. There are also sound machines but i dont know if thats good either.
I just try to not think about what i have to do the next day (because that stuff really stresses me out) but instead something that calms me till i fall asleep like something fun i enjoy doing. and i dont know if you are single or not and this might sound funny but i think of my boyfriend and what the future with him would be like or just stuff that he does that makes me happy. Its a lot better than stressful things or stuff that makes u hyper or anxious. anyway, i dont know if your problem has been solved yet but hopefully it did/will. ive also taken nyquil before bed but i dont suggest doing that unless you are somewhat sick cuz addiction to that would obviously be bad. |
