| | | Tony Robbins Hey Everyone:
We talk much about fitness and nutrition in here. Most of us know what to do, but doing it is a different story. In my opinion, weight training and cardio is the easy stuff. Higher up on the scale of difficulty is eating correctly. And then, the hardest step of them all is learning how to make your mind, and subconscious work for you, instead of against you.
I am a no hype, no B.S. type of guy, and when a few trainers in the industry started telling me, "You must dedicate some time to training your mind," and "You should really spend the money and invest in someone like Tony Robbins," I thought they were crazy. I wanted to say, "go hit the weights you skinny terd!"
However, a close friend of mind started to make fantastic strides in his career, his health and body, and his overall personality. The cause; Tony Robbins.
So a few years back I began reading a few of his books and they are fantastic. Recently, I listened to his audio course known as Personal Power. I can't stress enough the quality of tools that Tony offers through this course. I believe he could improve, if not change anyone's life for the better! And I never thought I would be a believer in this type of stuff.
I highly recommend trying it out for yourself. When I finally learned the role of my subconscious mind and how to use it to my advantage, that is when I turned my life into high gear on all fronts.
I was hoping to hear if any of you have had similar experiences with Tony Robbins. I find him to be too much for some, but I have implemented some of his techniques gently and subtly to my personal training clients and it has worked wonders on them too!
I know he has been brought up in here before a few times, so sorry if I am reposting.
Talk soon! |

| | | tony robbins My best friend worked for Tony Robbins a few years back, and he introduced me to Tony's method. I agree that he has some very useful information and his techniques do work, but I also think his products are bit too expensive.
Tony is basically a motivational speaker, and like most neuro-linguistic graduates, their main emphasis is on positive thinking and attitudes, which I'm for 100%, but I've found several other similar teachers whose writtings have been as inspirational. Catherine Ponder, and Norman Vincent Peale just to name a few. |

| | | I agree that his popularity has inflated his prices, which makes sense. I will have to check out the people you mention. I have been hooked on Tony for few years now so I don't think I will ever give his programs up.
Thanks for your feedback! |

| | | I like his stuff. Its kinda cheezy sometimes but that guy is truly brilliant. I put his stuff on my IPod and just listen to it while im working. Might as well let some of that stuff seep into my cranium while im making money, kill 2 birds with one stone. |

| | | I agree, Tony Robbins Rocks!! I've been into his techniques for years now and went to one of his seminars a couple of years back and my life has been better ever since. Since then I've travelled the world twice, got fitter, healthier and more muscular than in the past 6 years (without eating any meat). Totally healthy and full of energy. Doubled my yearly income in a totally different kind of work (which I really enjoy). Bought a nice property by the sea (and about to buy another in Spain near the coast). I plan to retire within the next 5-7 years (when I'm 35-37) and live in the sun.
Not on Guscave's comments: Tony Robbins is not a motivational speaker (he actually hates that title as he doesn't try to motivate anyone, that's just a by product!). Tony is not 'another NLP graduate' He uses his own methods which are totally different from NLP (which techniques only work sometimes on some people).. Tony teaches you how to teach yourself and adapt techniques to you so they work every time.
Also, Tony doesn't teach Positive Thinking, again he doesn't even believe in positive thinking (as it doesn't work) - what he teaches again makes you feel positive without having to think about it,
Other Authors are ok (I've read over 500 books on the subjects) but Tony is the best in my opinion. The only other thing that I think hits it on the head as good (almost haha) is 'The Secret DVD by Rhonda Byrne' which you can watch clips on youtube and on thesecret.tv.
Hope this helps people. Tony is unreal haha

I really don't like all the hype that surrounds the guy. It's not like he is magic. He just has a way about him that gets his point across. If you don't get sucked into the hype and simply take his words for what their worth.... I think you will get something out of it.
There are better authors on the subject. I like Tony's audios.... which I know can be borrowed from P2P networks on the web.
It's simply a form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. |

| | Well I got one of his Power Talk tapes and listened to it, great stuff. It was on discovering your identity.
Im 200 pgs into Awaken the Giant and its great. I read this sitting poolside in PR.
On a downside, he does heavily discourage the eating of animals. Also I was on the flight back Sunday and was thumbing through the Continental magazine and came across the ad for that 4 minute exercise machine. There was a recommendation by Tony R. Apparently he has three of these 15,000 dollar doo hickies. |

| | | Yea, I think I mentioned to you before Tony. Stay away from the guy when he brings up things outside of his realm of expertise such as nutrition and exercise. His advice will only piss you off.
Unfortunately, the guy is all about making money and learned that he could do so with a vast array of products outside of what he knows. Sad really, b/c I am sure people follow him religiously. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
