What's wrong with the Atkin's Diet? They were doing an interview with Dr. Atkin at supper time. He was eating lean steak, broccoli, avacodo, steamed asparigus, and a spinach salad. The problem with the Atkin's Diet is not in the diet itself but in the way people approach it. The Atkin's Diet is about limiting carbs to a reasonable intake and making smart carb choices.

That's all the more impressive as he died about 3 years ago after he suffered a heart attack, congestive heart failure and hypertension before falling to his death
I think I've known about 5 people who took up the Atkins diet, after a couple of years all of them are fatter than they were when they started. The worst case is a guy who can't touch carbs now or he'll balloon in weight, he's effectively signed up to this rediculous diet for life which gives him headaches, tiredness, aggression and awful breath. He was the one that followed the diet to the letter

Wait a second.... I looked it up. He didn't die from a heart attack! He hit his head and suffered severe head trauma, and later died from a blood clot in his brain from the accident.
EDIT: Wait lol, I read your post wrong. Reading is not one of my major skill.

Lol, yeah, he died from head trauma after falling over but the report on his death that was leaked said he had a heart attack and conjestive heart failure just before he fell.
He was 72 though which isn't such a bad innings

My wife uses pilates and feels really comfortable with the workout. As a migraine sufferer the low impact movements are ideal for her, and she looks great for it.

This is kind of funny. Dude, Pilates is a combination between strength training and core stability training. We have full machines with added weight and over 500 exercises, ALL of which target the core muscles, along with various other parts of the body.
I'm guessing you tried it once, and with a pretty awful instructor. Give it another chance. I've kept people out of spinal surgery for years by training their bodies to support disc herniations. If you train properly, privately and with a qualified instructor, you should absolutely not have any pain from it.
I do agree with one thing though - those celebrities do NOT only do Pilates. In order to get as skinny as they are, they would have to diet and do some form of cardio, too.

...haha
We had a "Jiu Jitsu" / "Judo" Instructor come into our "Power Pilates" class...half-way into into it. He grunted "**** this! I rather fight." and left, never saw the guy in that class again, I managed to see him in the sauna, and he shook his head and said "You women are hard-core."
Maybe it's just the "power pliates class" I attend but my trainer is CRAZY; we want to kill her after every workout but what it does to our bodies is amazing!

Hmmm...I originally didn't see your progress thread...did a little digging and wow...nice work.
I myself was 240 last summer...am now in the 190-200 range and am starting a weight cutting progress thread myself, I hope I get results similar to yours.
If you had a son my age I would tease him with how hawt is mom is :P
