Weight lifting and P90x ?

So I getting ready to start my P90X program that I received for my birthday on 8/13/08 (ya I know).

My question is, I like everything about the P90X program, and I just don't want to stop lifting. I've weight trained most of my life (38yr old) and I don't want to stop, just for any program.

So can I do both?

I'm thinking of following the P90X program, and adding a weight lifting program about 3days a week.

Just about all and any advice would be much appreciated, thanks in advance for the help.

Lifting and P90X

I don't see why you couldn't lift and do P90X at the same time. There is some lifting in P90X, so I would try and scheduled your lifting days around those days/body parts

My guess is that once you start P90X, lifting may not be as necessary as you once thought!

I know this isn't a helpful reply, it is more my gripe. I wish that the diet for P90x wasn't so darn expensive, it seems like an awesome program!

Build Your Own Diet!

If you followed the P90X nutrition guide to the letter, you would probably spend a fortune.....as you mention. However, if you read the nutrition guide, and get a good understanding of the diets principles, you could essentially create your own diet.

It would be more cost effective, yet still abide by the P90X nutrition guide.

Good luck!

I am doing the same thing. I have never been one to do the workouts from watching tv. But after trying the ab routine, I am hooked. I have modified on of their programs and instead of doing their lifting, I am still going to the gym.

P.S. Just realized I dug up a 2 month old thread, my bad!

a few of my friends are doing the P90x and told me about it. I have looked it up online and seen what it is but I don't understand it. Do you have to buy anything?
