So my Dad has gone on a diet this monday so I thought it would be the best time to start mine. It's not really a diet since I am only 16. I am not trying to lose lots of weight, well infact the only thing I aim to do is lose 2-4 inches off my waist. It's weird really because my body is slim except for my stomach/waist which is very rounded and quite chubby, and I know you can't target fat loss but thats all I really want to do.

So I exercise a lot anyway, but I have started more, seeing as I'm in study leave I have no College until september so I can carry this on for a few months. I goto the gym almost everyday (leaving the weekend for a rest so I don't damage anything) I do an hour workout in this time, doing circuit work and repeating everything in groups of 3 (e.g. 10 press ups 10 situps and plank for 30 seconds, then repeat 3 times) I then do a series of weight exercises e.g. lunge and press, or sumo squats whilst holding 7kg in my hands. I then go back to the gym later and do a class (sometimes but rarely 2 in one night) So yesterday I did circuits, and today I'm doing Aerobiking and 20.20.20.

My diet, on the other hand. I am trying to cut out carb's from dinner, not every night, but I'm basically trying to not eat them after 5/6. I've increased my meat intake, and every morning I have a bowl of Special K and a glass of fresh apple or orange juice. For the rest of the day I only drink water. For lunch I have a sandwich with either chicken turkey or salmon and salad.

My question is, do you think this is a good plan? Also, I heard that drinking juice only in the morning and drinking only water for the rest of the day is really good for you, is this true?

Hi everyone.

I am from India and i gained weight all of a sudden last year from 55kgs to 67.. not a single piece of my clothing fits me now. well thats the beginning.
I started having trouble breathing, sudden gasps while sitting. the thyroid level was 0.7 more than the normal range and after three months thyroid was back to normal without medication.

Now, for a month or so i have started taking smaller frequent meals.. and a DVD exercise routine ranging from one round to sometimes three, one round is for ten mins.
i wont say i feel a difference. i dont plan to check my weight till June end. thats my goal. not to check in between how is my progress. i try not to eat processed food, sometimes i am successful but lately am back to having my splurges which is pushing me back. whenever am sad or angry the control takes a toss and i end up reaching for the chooclates.

i would love it if someone would be kind enough to give me tips of how to go on when my feet refuses to do any more than one round. i know its te mind that does it. i do step ups with water filled bottles, ju mping jacks, hops, side knee lifts, tricep dips, pushups(though my arms dont bend at the elbow for some reason) and jogging on th spot.

Waiting for some awesome replies.

Thankyou guys.

I need to lose about 40lbs at the most and a lot of my issues are my stomach and back. I want to be leaner and more toned. I would just like some advice on different exercises, if my routine sounds like its going to make a difference, and if there is anything else I should try with this lifestyle change. I just want to see a difference and I hope what I have going on will do that for me.

Allow me to explain further, I have been working out daily for almost 3 years now, and I'm 19. Within the last 3 months I have been working out 5 days a week with a schedule that looks something like this
Monday-(Cardio on treadmill) Tuesday-(Back and Bicep/weights) Wednesday-(Swimming laps or shorter distance treadmill run) Thursday-(Chest and Shoulders/weights) Friday (Cardio again same as monday)

I''m 5'10-5'11 and about 147lbs, My fitness goals have been pretty much totally cardio oriented as I just seem to prefer long distance endurance and being cut. My average time of my cardio last week was a 6 mile run in 50minutes 15seconds, running at a pace of 7.5.

However...yesterday this week i went to run (with the goal in mind of running 7 miles in about an hour) and i pretty much gassed out after running 4 miles, just couldn't take it anymore and went to the sauna....I've noticed this has been a re-occuring theme for my cardio. Once i start improving one week I can't seem to keep the momentum up the following week, and gas out way early. Do i need to rest more and should I change my program? Should I run slower? I am getting frustrated with hitting this wall/plateau. Again my real goal is cardio/long distance as its the only real way my type of body stays cut. Any tips would be appreciated, thanks!

All you need are some friends, a field, and a Frisbee. Most folks would NEVER even consider using a Frisbee for fitness training compared to a Zumba class, but did you know you could burn up to 572 calories per hour from playing this sport? It involves a ton of running and can become pretty intense!

If you have never played, simply go to UltimateFrisbeeRules.org to learn the rules. Now grab a Frisbee, some friends and give it a try!

hi this post kinds of follows a similar thread I started!
A long story short.....Almost immediately after taking Superpump Max and Sizeon Max Performance during workouts I could not maintain an erection that day. Obviously bloody embarrassing for a 19year and consequently came off both supplements immediately!
Ive done a fair bit of research and this is surprisingly common when taking highly stimulating PreWorkout shakes!! From what ive read the ingredient responsible for "stim d*ck" is either methylhexanamine, geranamine (geranium oil), 1,3 DMAA or one of its many other derivatives!
Just wondering whether this ingredient/derivative is found in either Superpump Max or Sizeon Max Performance? Lots of different comments on the web, some saying it is in the Superpump Max and some saying it isnt! I would like to know definitively?

Thanks in advance!!

Hi all,

Im new to the pages and to the whole healthy living fitness thing really....I was always in shape and things as a youngster but a bad/lazy spell over the past couple of years has got tin me a bit podgy round the waste and a little flabbier than i like to be so i wanna get back to a healthy lifestyle and a fitter physique again.

Any help or info I can get is massively appreciated, Ive been reading a few boards over the past few weeks and have to say that the mass of content is a tad overwhelming.

Im not looking at HULKing up or getting freakishly ripped muscle architecture, I just wanna look healthy again and feel better about my physique.

So....on to the stats;

Im 175/176 cm, currently 81.4 kg in underwear and calculate my BMI at 26.5 so officially overweight :(

My plan is to research into dietary/nutrition information while trying to work away my podgy gut and loose bits of body fat and then re-set with new goals and targets once I achieve that.

Im looking at interval cardio (then probably HIIT Cardio) with some do-it-at-home weights (real basic stuff) until I can get into good eating/sleeping habits. From what Ive read eating and sleeping are the primary areas to get nailed down first?

If anyone can help me out with dietary/nutritional information, and maybe supplement information that will help toward my goals it would be met with massive thanks.

Comment and critique as much as possible please.....every little bit helps

So looking forward to getting into a healthier fitter lifestyle and shape

Hello! I'm new and I'm on a hunt to figure the best rounded way to work out, the best nutritional recommendations to keep lean mass, and the most efficient way to burn fat.

My current stats are such
Starting weight 247 (march 2012)
Current Weight 225
Goal weight 145(aiming for may 2013)
Body fat % 44

I know I have such a long long way to go, the numbers still are very daunting to me, even tho the number is going down.
My work out when I started was 10 minutes of cardio followed by core, free hand weights, lunges, then followed by another 10 on cardio. First 6 weeks I met with a personal trainer every other week, he showed me lots of great core exercises. The gym I joined provides me with someone to take my measurements every 6 weeks, I lost 11.5 inches all over which is great in my first 6 weeks, I also lost 17 lbs but half of that weight showed up as lean mass and I want to keep as much as I can. So I upped my protein to around 120g a day I was intaking around 90-100g per day but my trainer says I need more, so more it is. I tend to not intake as much carbs as my calorie counter reccomends around 10% more than what I'm getting in, will that effect where the weight loss comes from?

Let me get you up to speed on my current diet and exercise routine. I'm currently intaking around 1550 calories a day. I use my fitness pal to track it all. As far as my work out I now do 18 min of cardio on the elliptical to warm up then move to cable weights where I work a body area for 3 days low weight 3 sets of 15-20 , and I always include core at the end since I'm heavier in the mid area my core is so so weak. Then I hit cardio again sometimes it's 10 on the bike, or like today 15 min on the treadmill. I work out 5-6 days a week. I'm always open to switching things up. Sorry this is so lengthy I wanted to make sure I included everything so no one had any questions, again what can I do differently to maintain lean mass and rid my body as much fat as possible.

Thanks for reading
