I have read a bit of the thread posted in April 2007 by leecm about putting an elliptical machine on a second floor over the garage in the bonus room of his spiffy house and I now have a question that I am hoping somebody may know the answer to (er, um I meant 'to which somebody may know the answer'!). How much does an elliptical machine weigh? My husband and I just purchased a Reebok 1000 ZX Elliptical and are thinking of putting it in a spare bedroom on the second floor of our 1950 cape style home. From what folks said to leecm, it seems as though we should be fine but I am just curious now because I did an Internet search for how much an elliptical machine weighs and I got nuthin'. I know, I can just wait until it arrives and then look at the box but it may be a week or more and if I find out that it weighs a bazillion pounds before it arrives, we'll come up with a Plan B location for it. :^) Thanks all! From what I can tell, it's going to weigh in at least a couple of hundred pounds, so it's going to be tricky getting it upstairs. I'd try and get some help if you decide to do it. Good luck though!
