Recently I purchased a ProForm CardioCross 675 Elliptical for aerobic workouts at home (See illustration). A friend, who's a certified personal trainer, tried out the machine and criticized its design. The ellipticals he uses at his gym have a ramp design, keeping the feet relatively flat while in motion.
But the ProForm 675 has a flywheel design, causing the feet to tip forward and down, especially as you put weight on them as they go forward—and that's really unnatural, like running down a steep hill, and really hard on your legs, he says.
Do other members concur with his criticism of this ProForm Elliptical?
Your friend is a Precor snob. They are the ones with the ramp design. I find the Precor much to bouncy and don't like it at all. If you are comfortable on yours, and you use it, forget about what he says. All ellipticals feel different and as long as you like yours your okay.
