All hail fresh vegetables and fruits

My garden is blooming! I planted a ton of tomatos, peppers, cucumbers, eggplant, yukon potatoes, peas, and beets. I've been picking the tomatos, green peppers and cumbers and just eating them like crazy. Things taste so much better straight out of the garden.

I also pulled some beets out of the garden. I steamed them and ate them and god were they good. I was eating some roasted red pepper tomato soup from Trader Joes and decided to cut up one and throw it in there. Tasted great! I know it's not a recipe but the the two tasted good together so I thought I would share.

Not to mention, it's all organic

I was just talking to my sister and she told me that my 15 year nephew has really trimmed up lately and she attributes it to the fact that he's been eating so much more fruit and vegetables. The reason for that is he has set up this little garden and started growing his own fr. and veg's. This lead to him becoming interested in the science of it all, then he got really excited about eating it all! Cool huh?!

I love my garden...but after 20 straight nights of zucchini and summer squash...I think I'm in need of some new recipes!!! Just got fresh turnip last night from the garden...and something called spaghetti squash, I haven't even cut into it yet!

Lot of strawberries, raspberries and blackberries coming in now....great in the oatmeal!

Yah ! Having your own garden is the best motivation to eat more fruits and vegetables not just for yourself but for the whole family.
