Cottage Cheese???

Hello I read that cottage cheese helps you burn fat instead of muscle. It makes more of the nutriunt that burns fat and less of the nutriunt that burns muscle. I have tried to eat cottage cheese with fruit and it is just nasty. Is there any way I can get it to taste good? Is it really healthy for you? Are there any other foods that do the same thing as cottage cheese?

Cottage cheese is esentailly just rotten milk. It is a good low fat, low carb source of calcium and protien, however it has no special powers I ever heard of. You might try mixing applesauce in with it.

cottage cheese is a great source of casein which is great before bed. milk is another source of casien.

some put splenda in it for the taste. i started out with those doubles with the fruit on the side then worked my way up to the regular.

Ive just started eating healthily after years of abusing my body... i went for a whole week without eating anything!!! (not my fault) I suggest that you eat the cottage cheese on a ryvitta lite with some red pepper on top - its good! or have it with jacket potatoes and add salad into it cut up. anything which is health (fruits veg, salads) add to it, mix and match, find you're own preference.

i really hope this helps you,
hugs el x

Cottage Cheese is simply curds and whey (like the stuff in whey power :P). Its a great source of low fat protein, and stays with you for long digestion.

Some people can't stomach it. They don't like the taste, but there really is not anything much better for a fitness guru.

Personally I eat it with just salt and pepper, possibly with a bit of green onion or ultra low fat mayo. My girlfriend will just eat it raw or maybe a small banana on the side. My good buddy will eat it with canned pineapple. Another friend of my will only mix it into a meat sauce.

The trick is to incorporate it into a healthy diet, i hope this give you some ideas on how easily it can be done.

I have added chopped egg to cottage cheese before. Mixed together, they tasted ok. I have heard of some people that mix cottage cheese with oatbran.

I used to watch my Mother eat Cottage Cheese when I was a kid and just about get sick. I thought I would never eat such a thing. I wouldn't even eat Lasagna if it had Cottage instead of Ricotta Cheese.

A few years ago, when I first started to eat healthy, I figured I better learn to like this stuff because it is good for you. It's more important that you eat food that is beneficial to your goals than food that taste good.

I started with one cup of cottage cheese in a bowl with one cup of blended yogurt on the side. This way I could vary the mixture by dipping a little cottage cheese with a little yogurt. Wow! this taste pretty darn good. Little by little I'd get more cottage cheese and less yogurt. Well guess what, I actually like the stuff now all by itself. I usually eat the 4% milkfat small curd stuff and I just open the container and eat it plain and enjoy it.

They also sell it premixed with crushed pineapple which it pretty easy to stomach for the beginner.

Good Luck and give Cottage Cheese a chance. You just might like it too.

cut and paste

Casein
Primary protein found in milk, along with whey protein. Casein is the insoluble protein fraction of milk. It is absorbed more slowly than whey and provides the body with amino acids over an extended period in comparison to whey protein, the soluble protein fraction in milk.

some may think this sounds gross but I eat it sometimes with spaghetti and sauce, or recently I mix green beans, some spaghetti sauce, cottage cheese and some sliced up chicken and find it tastes quite good.

Hope this helps
