    Homemade Beef Jerky

    this is a nice little recipe for homemade beef jerky, it's cheaper and honestly, might be a bit better than store bought

    1 1/2 to 2 pounds flank steak
    2/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
    2/3 cup soy sauce
    1 tablespoon honey
    2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
    2 teaspoons onion powder
    1 teaspoon liquid smoke
    1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

    Trim the flank steak of any excess fat, place in a zip-top bag, and place it in the freezer for 1 to 2 hours in order to firm up. Remove the steak from the freezer and thinly slice the meat with the grain, into long strips.

    throw it all together in a plastic bag, let it marinate for about 3-6 hours(longer even if you would like). Drain the strips once they have finished marinating, blot them try. I turned the oven to warm and just let those strips sit for a few hours(you can crank the heat to drop the time). nonetheless, for the cost of 10 bucks you get jerky that's cheaper than the store bought stuff

    (adjust the levels for strength of the jerky and it's heat)

    Did you hang the strips from the oven rack or place them on a baking sheet?

    Hang them from the rack. I do it by hanging each strip from a skewer or toothpick. Also, when doing this, I leave the over door open a crack so that the heat element is constantly running as well as to allow it air flow to dry the meat.
