Chin-ups

Just curious to see how many chin-ups people can do - palms facing inwards, starting from arms fully extended, not using feet to kick off (yep I used to subconciously do that :S )

I can do about 5-7 now, which I here is about average at 15

Palms in?? Isn't that a sissy pull up? Or am I the only one who was taught that??

You should use both, palms facing you hit the bicep more and are easier. I just setup my bar about 2 weeks ago, i can to 3 or 4 but plan to increase that the next 6months to weighted pullups.

Im 16 and i did 18. Palms inward arent sissy, they just use more of your back, hands facing away use arms more.

Palms in uses more biceps... Palms out uses more back, hence more muscles, making it more of a power exercise.. I can do around 22-23 palms out, and prob around 25 palms in

palms inward I can do about 20 and outward about 17....I can also do a one handed pullup (I think this accounts for one) use one hand to pull up and I leave the other hand on my bicep (for balance er something I guess)

damn..makes me look really crap :S. I can't do a 1-handed pull up at all either.

While hanging on the bar, can anyone do a 'roll' back with legs going through your arms, without kicking off, just using abs

Five years ago, maybe more, I did 27 chins with my palms in.

I'm not sure how many I can do now, maybe only 18 to 20, but I'm certain if I train for awhile I can get up to at least 25.

Years ago I worked at Farmall, a tractor plant in Rock Island, Illinois. I had to pull on a chain to hoist tractors up to put those huge tires on them. I found out that I could get a work out of my work. Ultimately I was able to do a one armed chin up (without holding on to that arm with the other arm.) According to Guiness that made me one in 10,000 or so. But I suspect I was even rarer.
I've never seen anyone in my lifetime other than me, do a STRICT one armed chinup.

Okay, are we talking about wide-grips? I've never tested myself on a nuetral grip. I can do maybe 8 wide-grips, palms out. Palms in I can do a lot, I don't even care to test myself on that.
