Hi everyone,
I was training for a cross country race in 4 weeks time, and then i strained my hip flexor the other day in training when i didn't warm up properly. Now i have a 3 week lay off. I'm determined to try and race if i can, but it's looking unlikely. I really need to somehow keep up my aerobic fitness, but am finding the alternatives to running that i have tried, e.g. cycling, pretty painfuil, and thats not going to do any good. If anyone has any suggestions i'd be really grateful.
Hip flexors are a different sort of this basically because you use them for nearly every form of cardio. The only forms of cardio that I can think of that wont aggravate it more is a hand ergometer and some types of swimming.
The best thing you can do for a small temporomental injury like this is to rest it and do everything your physiotherapist says!
yeah, my hip flexor pain is anterior femural glide (google it if you don't know) it's not the hip flexor itself there's something wrong with, that's just where I feel the pain.
