So a few weeks ago I started jogging/walking - the first time the next 2days my shins were SO SORE I mean real sore - no pain though. Then a few times after doing more, nothing I was fine. Then eversince the last 3 times have been down right painful - to the point were take last friday,I really went the distance tried to stay on the grass, but after for a few days I had shooting throbbing pains, no soreness. Felt good today so went jogging and felt so tight that I started to walk and that was TORTURE too -my shins were SO TIGHT I wanted to cry. WTF?? I try to stay soft landing, and stay on the grass!
Those sound like shin splints. Shin muscles are fatigued and need to toughen up. This is common with new runners and even walkers and even more experienced people.
