What did I do now :(

I have been batteling shoulder pain for a few years now. Doc says its tendonitis (sp?). I have had pain in my right and in my left (it seems to alternate) and now its back in my left. Now I also have pain in my scapula and my color bone. The muscles around my scapula seem to be tight too. I still have full range of muscle but i cave nagging pain mostly in my scapula. When I do an exercise such as bench it hurts my colarbone. Any ideas? If it doesnt get better soon I may go back to the doctor but I really don't have time

I have had tendonitis in the shoulders and elbows and there wasn't much the docs could do for that. But, you should see your doc again to make sure that is what you have.

I had Tendonitis and Tony got me doing Press up Iso holds and it seems to have cleared up the issue by strengthening the whole shoulder area. I was just used to trying to ignore the pain but now I'm 100% pain free

Is that just doing full pushups and holding at the top? Part of th problem is the tight muscles between my scapula and spine which seem to be aggravated by exercises like that. I have done those in the past though to try to improve my shoulder problems. I may just take next week off and see if there is any improvement then go see the doc if not

Pain with the shoulderblades is usually do to a muscle imbalance. Though your muscles (rhomboids) may be tight, this is usually do to them being too weak. This may also be a postural issue, where the muscles on the front of the body are not in balance with the muscles in back.

Those rhomboids are supposed to stabilize your shoulderblade. If they aren't strong enough your shoulders will be rounded forward. This position places unnecessary stress on the shoulder and may be causing most of your problems.

Taking a break from barbell exercises might help. You might seek help from a trainer knowledgeable about these muscle imbalances. Getting some good quality soft tissue therapy might also help.
