| | | A form of HIIT? I have been doing my own kind of HIIT lately, I am wondering if this is helping. Basically what I am doing is running hard till I reach about 180 +- 5 Heart Rate. I then walk and try to bring it down as quickly as possiblt to about 140-150, I then go back up to my 180. I do this 6 or so times, and I usually have done a little more than a mile by the end. Is this an effective workout? |

What is " 140 - 150 " & " 180 +- 5 Heart Rate " expressed as a % of Your Maximum Heart Rate ( MHR ) ?
Also, could you go any harder than " 180 +- 5 Heart Rate " if you had to ?

| | Monitoring HIIT intervals by heart rate levels is by far the best way.
Too much emphasis is on duration when all that matters is cracking into that 90% MHR zone and then getting it back down asap and going again. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
