| | took a brisk walk at lunch and it felt good. I will run tonight and be at TaeKwonDo.
losing the entrigue with the fitday program, it is seeming like crapola to me. I had sex this morning and sweat, definatley rigorous activity, and it gave me 24 calories burned for that. then i ate a cup of quinoa for lunch and fitday says it is 600+ cals, when the box claims 170. What's up with that?
anyhow, being active and working my tail off to feel good is what it is all about.
thinking of ditching fitday Doc! what are you finding?

| | | Like anything else, I think you get the most out of fitday from what you put into it. I'd put in everything you eat as a custom food, that way you know that what's on the package is what's in fitday. |

| | I'm putting just about everything in as a custom food in FitDay-- wife gives me a little crap for it, but I'm interested in tracking it as much as possible (and as accurately as possible). At the very least, it's really made me start looking at the labels again... About the only things I haven't been customizing are the veggies (which I'm not convinced are accurate) and the eggs (again...just not sure...will probably add them in as custom tonight).
As for the activities? I'm with you there-- just don't understand the logic used to come up with some of those activity calculations. BUT...not sure it matters in the long run because I'm far more interested in tracking my overall diet using FitDay than my activities...just putting those in there for a "ballpark" feel.
You're doing great effer...but you've got a ways to go, heh heh. |

| | | on the crunches I have found that 20 hard deep slow contracted thru the entire motion will do more than 1000. it is the heat that works it.
TaeKwonDo last nigth and then an hour for the demo team, hit the body hard, have a black eye coming in, and tonight I will run/sprint/run til i puke-- just for fun.
challenged the doc to throw in 150 pushups along with anythign else. I have done 75 so far.

I have the muscles, it's just underneath this 1 inch thick layer of fat.
i'm open to suggestion on handling the mentals that are within this thick skull. |

| | | OK today is much better. Weight has settled in at 198.
Played tennis this morning, 7 games, or 2 matches, and my partner finally quit. Then wen to TaeKwonDo for 3 tournament rounds, about 30-40 minutes of sparring in all. Ran home from dojo, for a total of 3.7 miles.
this mornin when i got up, i ate two chicken breasts, a yogurt, one egg, and an orange. Had 2 cliff bars (one after tennis, an one before run) came home showered, and now i will watch a movie with my lady!! hanky panky on the brain,, testosterone is flowing.
Learned something in discussion with wife,,, when i am not agressively physically active, I am a bit testy!!! hhheheee is it a curse!! NOT for me. |

| | So you need some serious motivational support with your dietary needs...Are you more motivated during the week and not as motivated on the weekend?
And where does all of that energy come from? You seriously need to bottle that and sell it -- you would be a billionaire I am sure!
You need more protein in your diet? |

i'm open to suggestion on handling the mentals that are within this thick skull. | It's a one-day-at-a-time deal bud. We all have good days and bad-- and days that it's easier to keep the discipline going (and days you want to throw in the towel).
So just get up, do what you need to...come here and read...call a friend...read a book...do 150 pushups.
I've never seen the abs I want (on me), but I know they are there...it's just going to take hard work and patience to get there. And for the arms/upper body...and lower body (not nearly as plagued with fat), I'm hoping to see enough results to keep me motivated.
So get over it dude-- you want discipline? Go watch Full Metal Jacket.

| | | rode bikes on nature trails today,, wore my kid out, he rode the pavement, and i rode the grass and dirt... stopped at park and did pullups until fail, 3 different times, TJ my son got a full 10 in a row,,, lil crapper,,, he just started trying, i can do 17 with palms facing me, and 12 with palms out,, did a total of 63 pullups in all.
tach on bike gave us 18 miles ridden, but we stopped a few times.
plan on running when the sun goes down. --Ended up running two miles incorporating 15 pushups with different hand position every 1/2 mile. Nice and very very sweaty!!
For Diet,,, i am trying to just drop sweets. my diet is strong, but i love to have a piece of cake, a milky way, or a brownie at the drop of a hat.
Beems-- my energy comes from two things i believe! 1. Momentum... i try to keep the motor running. 2. no carbonated drinks, no beer, no cokes...

| | | This is a tough one - clearly you do more than enough exercise to justify a cheat now and again, but just as clearly it's not getting you to your goal of removing that last inch of fat. You might have to just decide which you want more - more fun cheat meals, or lower bodyfat... |

Beems-- my energy comes from two things i believe! 1. Momentum... i try to keep the motor running. 2. no carbonated drinks, no beer, no cokes... | I guess my problem is #1 -- momentum. I hate soda's of any kind and am not an alcohol drinker so that part I don't have a problem with...got to get the momentum going I guess.
But having a bit of a sweet tooth myself (to put it mildly) here are some things that I like to do to satisfy that craving: Eat fruit...but jazz it up a bit
grapes, yogurt, banana's, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, apples, cantaloupe, watermelon, etc.
I like to pick about three fruits (small portions for me) and then mix in one small container of fat free yogurt, it is delicious. Then you can top it with some cruchy granola (look for the naked kind of granola...)...Give it a try the next time you want a brownie...you may find that it works on that sweet tooth...
I also found that it takes me about 3 days or a week without sweets to really have the cravings go away...Then the longer I am without them the less cravings I have.
And you must be doing something correct since you have lost 6 lbs...
Remember, this won't be instant!
