work hard, play hard

New journal; I think this is the third one or something. But, I was reading through "The real thing", and I didn't like it. It was, "I'll do this tomorrow", "I'm going to start doing this", and of course, me complaining. So heres the new one. I want it to be more upbeat, and positive.

Goals
*Ultimate goal:
To be in tip top shape, active, and ready to run a half marathon.
goal deadline: January 15th, 2009

*Short term goal:
Drop 30 pounds
Goal deadline: May 15th

*Monthly goal:

drop five pounds by the end of the month
Goal deadline: march 1st

*Weekly goal
I will lose five pounds by next weigh in
Goal deadline: 2 weeks

I really want to work hard on cleaning up my diet. I'm going to need a lot of support on this.
Suggestions are welcome.

This is the most recent picture I have of myself, thats a full body shot, and I look the same now. I hate it.

Cardio

***I'm also starting a three day per week cardio routine. However, the days that I do the cardio vary week to week, depending on my work schedule. No way am I going to schedule a high intensity cardio workout when I have to be up at four in the morning. I'll only opt not to do it.

A little over-ambitious, imo, but I can't really criticize you on that. I enjoy the same approach. Gradual isn't really for me. All-or-nothing.

I think you could do with less volume and exercise-specific weights for your workouts, but it doesn't really matter that much. What matters is what you're gonna stick with, and if that's it, then I say rock on sister.

fo shizzle

I know what you're sayin'. I'm doing it like this, so that if I get tired, I can stop in the middle, but I will have worked all the muscles that this workout is designed to work. I gotta train hard if I'm going to keep up with sparrow in the marathon in january!

If I had abs like this I would be happy

Hunh. I'm actually not that big a fan of her abs. But I'll take everything above and below. Rawr.

It's good to have pictures around to constantly remind yourself of what you want. Does tend to make your SO a little suspicious, though. I mean, why do I have more pictures of dudes than girls in my apartment. That's a pretty good question, really.

But they're the bat symbol. It looks like Commisioner Gordon is trying to signal The World's Greatest Detective. And, uh, yeah, as neat as that is, I don't particularly like it.

Why not more like ?

Abs will come with a clean diet and the fat loss, just stay true my friend.

I like your all or nothing approach. I function the same way. You've got to find the drive to overcome any rationalizing though. Your drive to succeed must supersede any excuse (well, within reason I guess). Besides work, you are single and kidless, you're in the PERFECT position for uninhibited performance. You CAN and you WILL do this. Put that pic of yourself up on your fridge along with what you'd like to look like (the ab shot or something else) it will be good motivation. Just don't eat out of emotion, thats the worst. Find some non food reward for those mini goals too, that helps.

Thanks katie :]

I've taken the past two days off, due to me being so freaking tired. I had to be at work at 5am almost everyday this week.

Next week will be better. I have very minimal hours at work, which sucks, but I'll have time to focus.

There you are! I kept checking your old diary and no posts so I came looking for you and here you are, new journal!

I'm glad, I was worried you'd disappeared.

Anyway, rock on!

make that three days off...

no no no I'm not quitting. I promise promise promise that I'll workout tomorrow. SCOUTS HONOR.

I went the the store today, and instead of buying a crap load of junk, I got

Mild cheddar cheese
string cheese
lean turkey
distilled water
crystal lite
propel water
chicken hot dogs (better than other things right?)
wheat thins
natural pb

We're going back tomorrow and I'm going to get some lean meats to cook with veggies in the crock pot.
I'm making chicken right now. Just to get it cooked, and then tomorrow it will either get turned into fajitas or chicken and vegetable soup.

I'm trying to clean up my diet.
I want visible abs

Me too, but it's easy for me to say because I hate hot dogs. Wheat thins are another story, I love them, but I've been told to lay off the crackers.
