BJJ Weight Training Im getting more serious about my bjj training. I workout with your standard chest and bi's, shoulders and tri's, etc.....
I need a workout that is geared towards our sport with explosion and strength....anyone have any systems that work? -
-
This going to help out my physique as well? I would like to have good shape and tone as well.
Thoughts? -
2) Once you can easily squat 1.5x your bodyweight Olympic style and your goal is primarily strength and secondary size, then you are ready for DFST.
Prioritize, rog. You can't have it all at once. -
any workouts that do both? i have seen a couple that have both strength and endurance days. that way they mix both low reps workouts and high rep complexes on the endurance days.
any thoughts? -
generally, your looks (if thats what you mean) will improve as you get stronger.. i mean, ever seen a really GOOD athlete who looks like ****? -
Yes. -
Well, you could go over to www.defrancostraining.com and check out his Westside for Skinny bastards program. It has rep days and max days.
Good pic, Lei. -
is that guy in the pic an athlete? i forgot to mention there were certain ones that doesnt follow that rule. marathon runners, sumo wrestlers.. -

i dont consider that a sport :P and you know what i mean by an athlete :P -
Aw come on now. Competition breeds sport. -
oh come on. i said "have you ever seen a proffessional athlete looking like ****?" and you post that pic. that guy is no athlete, we all know that. and you knew very well what i was talking about, you just wanted to make a big case out of it, and now you get it.
sport P Pronunciation Key (spôrt, sprt)
n.
Physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively.
A particular form of this activity.
Physical activity. i dont consider eating to be that. eating contests are not a sport, they are a contest. -
Well, first of all, the pic I posted was intended as a joke. But if you want to get into it...
Running is a contest, in the same sense. Who can finish first? Any kind of "sport" you're referring to, who can score the most?
You train to eat just as you train to compete for anything else. But whatever, I wasn't serious anyway, so relax. -
okay sorry then, no hard feelings. i missunderstood Similar Threads -
