Kettlebells are just as good as anything else. And yes, there are a lot of your KB movements that can be simulated with dbs.

hi

I had read this article called "turbo charge your striking power" by Steve Cotter,RKC Sr

http://www.dragondoor.com/articler/mode3/176/

The article mentions the use of the russian military press which aids in the proper contraction of the thorax in the rib cage to increase striking power.

Can the same effect be achieved with the dumbell military press or so

Has anybody tried out the whole thing?

maybe not so effective

Kettlebells is made in such a way that the centre of gravity will cause the bell to be heavier.Between a 16kg dumbell and kettlebell the latter will be heavier. Therefore more muscle and technique is required. However if you wish to see the effects of kettlebell and don't wish to buy it try using a heavier db.A very good drill to do will be swings which can be found in http://www.slidetour.com/sample1/dis...ell_swing.html

yes

It will.Weight is all the same as long as you need strength to lift it,you will need contration. As for proper,I am in doubt due to the mechanism of DB.

Check out some of the videos on this web site. If you have ever trained with kettlebells you know that there are things you can do with them that are not possible with dumbells. One benefit would be incredible grip strength due to the thickness of handles, Frank Shamrock trained w/ kb's for his last fight against Ceasar Gracie and had great things to say about them.
