Be warned, I started at 117lbs and with an ED lol
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Semi-Starting Point-139lbs (I was 22lbs lighter if you can believe that )

End Result After 11 Months-170lbs

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alright, well there it is. I realize I'm not that huge yet (180 was my goal) but personally I think that putting the bulk on hold until September would be best. Also, I'm not sure what BF I'm at. Any estimates?

Anybody have some opinions on what I should do?

Thanks very much and sorry for the long post

ED= Eating Disorder. For three months, I ate under 1000 calories a day consisting of mostly vegetables. I worked manual labor and ran about 10km a day where I required about 3500 to maintain. Before that, I never knew you could sleep 12 hours a night and still be exhausted. Anyways, I'm glad I'm out of that ****. It's not fun at all.

My waist went up about 1 inch and I believe I was about 5-6% BF when I started. I believe at least 3/4 to be muscle and glycogen and the rest to be fat. People thought I was crazy when I was tracking my calories and macros and also lifting weights but I think my hard work with training and diet has paid off.

Later

To those discussing Bruce Lee and sprinting and whatnot:

First Karky - I understand why you could be annoyed with Bruce Lee being mentioned so often...want to know why? He is a good example...He is respected by many and he was indeed an expert in both fitness and martial arts, your opinion on him seems flawed.

First of all I don't kiss anyones a$$ but I must say this to you Karky: Bruce Lee was, is and will always be the Elvis Presley of Martial Arts - Maybe some of you do not respect him or try not to be too "conformist" with this subject but the biggest reason why we have Martial Arts now in north America is due to Bruce Lee's success at presenting martial arts movies in North America. I could never have gone to all those classes of MA if it wasn't for him. I respect him - the level of commitment he put into his movies has rewarded me and many others who love MA and he probably is one of the most important reasons why I am interested in the fitness field.

When someone says "Bruce knew **** about fitness." I take offense. I think if he we're standing right next to you, you would realize his level of fitness and keep trash like this to yourself. How can he be so fit and not know **** about fitness? Cmon Karky...lol

I could give you more than one hundred proofs of this being total BS. At first he didn't know much (but probably still more than you and me combined) but after a while he became pretty damn good with fitness...he improved a lot during his whole life.

Bruce was indeed bent on functionality more than technique...he discussed this many times over with many interviewers and made it clear that the average Martial Artist did not put enough emphasis on fitness...that they we're all bent on technique. This is why Bruce Lee could easily win so many fights without using any fancy techniques - he was simply fitter, stronger and faster and a true street fighter.

Bruce Lee was capable of decent sprints but is true strength was in endurance...45 minutes of stationary bike - full throttle with a lake of sweat underneath him...almost every day...

Oh and Karky - the single most important thing in a punch is a solid forearm, just so you know.

Now on the subject of sprinting:

Short distance sprinting relies on the ATP system...the bigger muscles are the bigger your ATP reserves are hence the more explosive you are. This is why successful short distance sprinters are buff and why long distance runners are thin and almost skinny at times. But sprinters also need to be as light as they can so you will never see a bodybuilding-lookalike in sprints, use logic, please.

Sprinters are fast, yes, but in short bursts. They could not keep it up much farther than the distance then train for.

Now to the OP:

Nice work, plenty of muscles added there and it shows - keep it up. I am bookmarking this thread to show others what they can do if they are in a similar situation.

Again, thumbs up bro!

Eric

Damn man....that's mighty impressive. Pretty inspirational. To somebody who isn't in the same boat as we are (skinny and can eat whatever), they don't realize just how hard it is to gain weight. Damn impressive.
