*AIM's Progress Pics*

This is my biggest flaw. I have a disgusting body, obviously. I am sorry if I have in any way disgusted anyone. My main goal is to lose my man boobs, and lose my gut. I understand I should post my exercise and eating plan, but, I don't really have one. Here is what it is

Food:
Usually a bowl of cereal for breakfast, such as honey nut cheerios or special K with 2% milk
A snack like a granola bar, or cherries.
Lunch would be anything my mom makes for example, taco salad, a hot dog, soup, chicken, etc.
Then dinner would be also what my mom makes, like the meat would be breaded ground chicken with mashed potatoes and sometimes broccoli.
The drinks would usually consist of: V8 Splash, Lipton Green Tea(bottles ones), or water.

Exercise:
I do not have a planned exercise plan, but sometimes I ride my bike in the morning before I eat breakfast, or usually household chores would be my exercise(mowing lawn, cleaning, etc.)

Now I understand I have a lot of flaws. I would just like to know If anyone had any tips for me.

My stats:
16 year old male, 222 lbs., 5'11 height, not too active

*PS* The pictures already on this site compared to mine are much more appealing, and I understand I have a long way to go before I reach any kind of major change.

you can do it, bro!!! i recommend you read around the nutrition section!
nutrition is far more important than what you do. it is the deciding factor.

if i were you, i would start a serious health food diet and start a lifting routine with some cardio in there too.

if you need any advice, feel more than free(super free) to ask anything here. you can private message me, or you can contact me on AIM or yahoo messanger.
my screename for both is
imfitbit

i would say good luck, but when you arm yourself with knowledge and use that knowledge to drive you towards your goals, you dont need luck. i know you can do it.

Agreed. Don't be so hard on yourself. A lot of people here have started in a place they weren't happy with and are now achieving goals they'd never considered.

As ProteinBoy (Jon!) said, start with diet (the noun, not the verb). See if you can help your mother come up with some new dishes. Out of what you've listed, you've got room for improvement. Hot dogs, taco salad and fried chicken nuggets (anything fried really) should be avoided. I know you probably don't have as much control as you like, but see what you can do. Whatever you do, don't starve yourself. Just change what you eat. You don't list soda, which is great.

And again, as PB said...see if you can't lift some weights or add some strength training of some kind. Good luck!

It's great that you've come on here to start your journey to get back into shape, that's the first step sorted. Your next step is to improve your self esteem, you can start by not apologising for being overweight, you don't have to.

I think that you're in a great position to lose that weight, at 5'11" and 230lbs you're far from being a lost cause, you're just out of shape. Lose about 20lbs while doing a full body workout and I promise you'll look like a different person. You need to build a bit of muscle under the fat to improve your shape and then as the fat starts to go you'll look so drastically different you won't recognise yourself.

Try and avoid the temptation to go on severe diets though, you still need a decent amout of calories while cutting to fuel your body and give you the energy to perform all the exercise you're about to start doing

Good luck

Hang in there. At 16 you can totally change this. I think your biggest problem is lack of exercise. Start doing anything to get moving. You won't be where you want to at first, but you will there. Watch your portion sizes and you can make what mom makes work for you . Have you talked to your parents about helping you with your fitness goals? Obviously I know nothing about them, but maybe they could help you out as well. Good luck and don't ever call yourself disgusting, you are being way too hard on yourself. You'e taken a valuable first step in becoming healthy. Good luck

Don't worry mate, just wait a year, you'll look totally different, and in a few more you'll be just as lean and fulla muscle as anyone else

I totally agree with Missyv about talking to your parents. It's no good if you're trying to do something for yourself here, but they are not aware of it. My parents know for example to not feed me anything with a significant sugar or fat content, because I will never eat it

I suggest to cut all sugar from your diet, and eat grains, vegetables, meat and fruits - and get the most unprocessed ones you can.

Bike riding is an awesome way to keep fit. I'd recommend you go on 2-3 hour rides (or build up to them, by riding as much as you can) on weekends, and one hour rides after school.
Don't go slow, go intense.

And of course start weight training. If you prefer to do it privately, them buying a set of dumbbells would be the way to go. Works for me
