| | I spoke with a bodybuilder who works for Gaspari over the weekend, and he answered my question for me---so no point in arguing over a stupid matter anymore.
Thanks for the feedback though, derwyddon. And don't try to act tough on internet forums by telling me to be quiet. I never got any sort of attitude with you at all, so I don't expect any. I'm not trying to pick any fights, I just wanted to see the point of view of how it was distorted.

| | | Distorted was not really the best choice of words. What the census meant by "distorted" was actually "inaccurate" or "obscure".
The fact that you posted a picture of yourself at such an obscure angle is both inaccurate anyway you cut it. If you wanted people to gauge your bodyfat, you need to post your body.
A myspace picture is made up of several elements, most of which you had in the one single picture you posted:
1.) Poor lighting
2.) Poor picture quality
3.) Obscure angles
4.) The nagging feeling that you want to have the picture flatter you more than you want to be honest
Unless the bodybuilder tested you with some methods other than just looking at you, his estimate is probably what ours would be, so you have your answer regardless.
If you went up to the bber and stuck your elbow in his eye and flexed real hard, asking him to tell you what your bodyfat was, he would probably tell you basically the same thing I told you. |

| | | I left this thread alone for a few days and now it's a complete shoot out, I really missed out!
Gags, no one was getting any "attitude" with you, they were simply stating that the picture is not good enough to guess your body fat. Take a NORMAL picture of your front and back, and we might be able to take a shot in the dark at what your bf might be.
it seems like you took a picture in the most flattering lighting, at the most flattering angle just so a few people on a forum can guess your bf is under 10%. |

| | | People hold bodyfat in different areas. Which is why to give you a good estimate we would have needed a full body pic of some sort. If not maybe some classic poses would work, back double bi's for example, mo' muscle, anything but a bicep pic from the top that is skewed.
People attempted to ask for another picture, TO HELP YOU. You posting another, clearer pic, does not benefit anyone but you. By allowing us to give you a more accurate number. |

Or they are taken at a dodgy angle, and people then post in their comments "omg its YOU" or something else pointless and random |

| | | Yeah, its not a great pic if you want to know your body fat. My shoulders and back are pretty ripped even tho I'm 13% at the mo with a little bit of a belly.
If you want us to estimate your body fat take a pic from front and side when your relaxed, if you tense or hold your belly in then it wont be as easy to tell. |

I think if you will look back at some previous posts I have made that Im one of the last people to diss peoples pictures and progress. But in all seriousness that is a hard picture to tell anything from. For the record the majority of Cameras these days have slef timers so it isnt really an excuse. End Rant |

| | | There's plenty to see in that pic. He has good definition, but is not what I'd call "ripped" yet. There is also about a half inch of fat on his abs that you can see. He's about 11%-12% bodyfat. 10% is a little leaner than that on the abs with maybe 1/4" of fat. %6-%8 is very ripped. %4 is extremely ripped and almost impossible to achieve for most people. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
