GT, you have a good amount of mass under that fat. If you do lose fat, you will look impressive.

Have you thought about going through the V-diet?

I ask because you have a similar build to someone who went on the V-diet on T-nation ( physique clinic ) and he looked fantastic and ripped afterwards.

Now there's someone who can sport some tan lines Yeah, I think it would be best to vote after some new pics come up(don't worry Phate, you won't be let down). Yeah Chillen you're right, we both win either way. The competition is just progress really. Thanx for all your input guys!

Phate, give me some more info on the v-diet. I've actually not heard of it. I was planning on a balanced diet with about 50% carbs, 25% protein and fat. I'll try to google it and see what I come up with.

Yea. google it, and see if your up for it.

Also, why is your carbs at 50%? It looks like your carb sensitive, so you'd have an easier time lowering carbs.

As for the V-diet, check out this guy who did it

This is after he completed the v-diet

And this after dieting down a bit more.

You both have similar physiques, and I'm sure if you lose the fat while lifting heavy you'll look just as impressive.

We have alot of new persons join the forum from time to time seeking assistance. We currently have regular members trying to reach their personal goals.

With this mind. In the spirit of "common good", a regular member that is knowledgeable of diet and fitness (no trainers allowed), could (one on one, on the board, through PM's, and E-mail, etc) work with another member (new or a regular member) in training and dieting to achieve certain goal milestones. They would be paired with a person with simular goals, etc.

This "common member pair then would square off in a competition" with the other with a realistic time frame, with periodic updates, and an end date.

What do you think? We could set some rules of engagement, and assist in sparking the fire in each other, and work together to help one another with our goals. It is possible the "closeness" of the one on one assistance could "work" much spirit with the goal directed person.

I think (other than the prize of getting closer to or reaching one's goal) there should be a prize of some sort. What that can be I don't know. It doesn't have to be apart of it, but it was just a thought.

I don't know if anyone is willing to spend the free time necessary to assist another like this, as it would require some extra free time. But, I thought I would throw this out there and get your thoughts.

We had something like this, that the forum provided. But, the difference is that the member is getting one on one assistance. The person working with the new or regular member has to be disclosed.

Any hoot, it was just a thought (and, yes, I didn’t blow up thinking about it, be quiet! )

Best regards,

Chillen
Sorry to hi-jack your thread AIM, but I would be down for this. Just give me about 5 days to get my bruised knee and elbow healed up!

And good luck to both AIM and GT!!

Think one solid meal a week with the rest being protein shakes and you have the gist of the Velocity diet. I thought about it, but its a bit too extreme for my tastes.

Phate, I don't think it's so much that I'm carb sensitive. I'm more, uhm,....beer sensitive. Before I lost my job, I drank way, way, way too much beer (high stress sales not for me). When i drink, I eat (munchies). On top of that, the alcohol took all desire out of me to do anything except sit on my butt.

Since I'm not working now, money is fairly tight and I doubt I'll be able to pull off the v-diet right now. Unless we (collectively, all of us) could find a supplement company to sponsor me, now, theres an idea!!! So, for now it is clean eating with a lot of bike riding and soon some weights.

Thanks for all the input and encouragement. I'm off to ride my bike here in a couple of hours. The goal for the day is 15 miles.

Well come on man. If you want to reach your goal you have to limit your alcohol intake.

Yeah, the V diet is very extreme... if you did that it would basically completely consume your life...

But with all of the real world issues that go on, the V diet is very unpractical.

Hey... I wanna challenge someone to a cutting contest! Don't worry, I won't use keto.. Haha. That would be fun and extra motivation... who wants to go against me? I will get some pics up later.

I am prolly 15-20% bodyfat 183 pounds or so? Someone with a build similar to that wanna battle? heh.

Phate, Alcohol isn't a problem since I got fired. There is no stress now so I might drink once per week when/if we have friends over. Otherwise, there isn't much desire to drink. So, results of the Aim vs. GT contest should be pleasing. Thanks for the input/concern, Greg

Its the end of week one! I'm doing great, went to the gym everyday, sticking to cardio 6 days of the week and weights. Been eating clean, I definitely feel different! I can't imagine how the ending of this contest will make me feel. I am definitely looking forward to posting my midway progress pics! GT, how are you doing man?

Stickin' with it brother. Looks like I'll be stuck with inside exercise this week as it is going to rain, rain, rain. Either way it will be good. Take care. 3 weeks until midway pics, right?
