Don't want this thread to go stale Just want to update, I'm doing great, still goin' strong About 2 weeks until midway pics, can't wait! I seem to be lifting a lot of weights lately which is probably why my weight hasn't really changed. I will start focusing more on cardio (even though I already do 4-5 days a week, I will aim for 6 days a week.) The diet's been mostly clean (I still have that cheat every here and there). Anyway, I hope to get a lot achieved during the rest of this challenge. GT, feel free to update on your progress.

Good to hear you are still doing well. Just an observation, you say youve been lifting a lot of weights lately which is why your weight hasn't changed. I'd be a little skeptical to believe that. I lifted weights like a mofo and lost weight on the regular. Make sure you are hitting a nice, but healthy deficit every day, and you should be able to lift like crazy and still lose. In fact, I found that I would shed weight at incredible amounts.
Weight training should be the main tool for weight loss, that is your goal correct? Weight training trumps cardio for fatloss any day of the week, it is follow by HIIT training, not "cardio".
If you are trying to lose fat, and you are lifting weights but maintaining the same weight, then something is wrong with your diet.
Hmm, well, I haven't weighed myself in about a week, so I will see whats up later today. I am definitely in a deficit so it can't be my diet. I say my weight hasn't changed because last week (just 1 week after I started) my weight was nearly the same. I will weigh myself tonite and see where I am at. Yes, Weight lifting is awesome for fat loss, which is right up top with my diet. Actually, my weight probably went down I just don't know it. I will update later today and see where it's at. Thanx for the replies

I assume you have your food logged, because it's easy to underestimate intake by up to 400 cals...

good luck
Haha, just figured out you changed from AZN to Danger...Anyway, yea I log my food rarely, but this recent log is what I've been eating (Yes, its only 1453 calories, but I did not include some little things I snack on or drink, for example V8 Splash-not the healthiest...- or More chicken, I usually eat more chicken than I have posted.) So I estimate I eat+drink around 1600-1700 calories a day, which is 400-500 cals under my MT line(MT line=2160).
I think your MT line is inaccurate, someone your size should not be dipping into such low cals a day... I mean I'm guessing your BMR is close to 2000 alone from the data you gave me earlier.

I gave you my BMR...You were right. MT line would be the one that takes your activity level into consideration, so that would mean 3300 cals?! If I would have to eat anything over 2200 cals, I would have to eat junk food to meet those needs...Honestly, I'm functioning very well on under 2000 cals. I think I'll stick with what I'm eating now. If I was starving, my body would tell me, but I'm simply not having any hunger problems. Either I'm doing something wrong or I'm just strange...
Ehh, I'm no expert, but even though you feel fine, and feel like you are operating okay, your body might not be getting enough energy every day, and in turn is resisiting burning fat. And you are crazy man, there is plenty of good stuff to eat without needing junk food. Brown rice, oats, eggs, chicken, fruits, nuts...
Just a question, if it was starvation, wouldn't I experience some sort of discomfort? Hunger pains, headaches, fatigue? I've done pretty low carb before, and I had temporary headaches and stuff. Then again, I don't know, I'm open to your advice, I'll definitely PM tony
Not necessarily. The body is an amazing thing, you can feel quite alright even if things are haywire. Think about it, you can survive like a week or something without any food at all, granted you would start becoming weak and all as time went on, but with 1500 cals a day, you can survive just fine, feeling just fine, but not really have a healthy bodily state. Like many, I have made the mistake of trying to cut cals very low, and I felt OK, just didn't make much progress...
