The challenge begins! I recently asked GT if he was up for a weight loss challenge since we were the ones who kinda dropped out of the body transformation contest a while back. Also, we decided we could both use the motivation to do this The challenge begins today and will last for 8 weeks. We both hope to really achieve something by doing this and the prize will be a better body The way we will track our progress is weight and pictures. I only decided to do an update 3 times: today, the 4th week, then the final 8th week.
My stats as of June 16:
Height: 5'11 (I thought I was at least 6'0 but I guess not )
Weight: 212
Body fat % according to a cheap machine you hold~28%(Not sure if you know yours GT?)
July 14(midway)
Height: 5'11
Weight: 208
Body fat % ~ 25%
August 11(final!)
My Pics: (I honestly did not progress since my last pics so I will have the same ones as in my thread)
PS: I wasn't able to post this in the challenges thread so I put it here because of the pics.

I voted for myself I threw in this poll to make it a little interesting. I wanted to clarify its basically a question of who will make more progress(fat loss, tone up).
Now, now boyz, not so fast. I'm in like Flynn! I weighed 240.5 yesterday. I will post pics here in a bit. Nothing like being called out to get this thing headed in the right direction again. Pics to follow soon. Take care all, Greg
Let my kiddo wake up and I'll have him take a couple of starter pics. I got a chance to do some work for an old customer yesterday and since I haven't started my VA job yet, I took advantage of it.
Keep up the good work Aim. I know you've got it in you. But, you are picking on a 39 year old fella here, lol.
Pics to come soon. Thanks for everyone's interest. We won't disappoint. Greg
In the spirit of competition, the GT vs. AIM sparked an idea, and I am soliciting comments from the brotha and sista's on the pros and cons for the benefit of the forum and to one another.
We have alot of new persons join the forum from time to time seeking assistance. We currently have regular members trying to reach their personal goals.
With this mind. In the spirit of "common good", a regular member that is knowledgeable of diet and fitness (no trainers allowed), could (one on one, on the board, through PM's, and E-mail, etc) work with another member (new or a regular member) in training and dieting to achieve certain goal milestones. They would be paired with a person with simular goals, etc.
This "common member pair then would square off in a competition" with the other with a realistic time frame, with periodic updates, and an end date.
What do you think? We could set some rules of engagement, and assist in sparking the fire in each other, and work together to help one another with our goals. It is possible the "closeness" of the one on one assistance could "work" much spirit with the goal directed person.
I think (other than the prize of getting closer to or reaching one's goal) there should be a prize of some sort. What that can be I don't know. It doesn't have to be apart of it, but it was just a thought.
I don't know if anyone is willing to spend the free time necessary to assist another like this, as it would require some extra free time. But, I thought I would throw this out there and get your thoughts.
We had something like this, that the forum provided. But, the difference is that the member is getting one on one assistance. The person working with the new or regular member has to be disclosed.
Any hoot, it was just a thought (and, yes, I didn’t blow up thinking about it, be quiet! )
I don't consider myself a trainer yet but for all the time I've spent reading on health and fitness and taking my course with ISSA, I have what it takes to help someone...the only problem though is that I don't think any of the new members are in my area and I would have to somehow work it out over this distance.
This is a superb idea...and in my opinion this board should always have something like this.
For me this would be a way to learn more and to get experience with helping others.
Ok, here's a couple of starter pics with our dogs in the picture too. Don't tell my wife I called them dogs or I'll lose this contest on the grounds that she'll kill me immediately.
My starting weight Monday was 240.5, I weighed 237.5 this am and still have some more water weight to go before the "real" fat loss begins. I just got back from the store and bought some bananas, grapes, milk and diet Pepsi to aid in my journey.
Here they are, please don't cry (or laugh for that matter, hehehe).
P.S. - Do you like the tan lines on my legs and the little shaved areas in the middle of my chest that they shaved for the EKG. Boy, some folks will post anything on the internet!
