I've been on hiatus from here for a while. I have a tendency to get addicted to forums and get nothing else done, so I have to go cold turkey

I'm still cutting, and I finally got my calories squared away. I had trouble for a while because my weight fluctuates wildly sometimes and it's hard to gauge my weight loss. I accidentally gained weight on a couple weigh-ins early on.

I picked up some new equipment on Craig's list for a great deal and this spurred me to get more hardcore on my lifting and I cut cardio back to 3 days a week (I still go for an hour, but I used to do that every day) That made my weight and calorie intake stabilize at a very do-able 3200-3250 a day.

....also if this helps the great debate as to whether you can lose fat and gain muscle at the same time: in the time I have lost 10 lbs my arms have gone from 16" to 16 1/4"

I am 200 now (should be 199 Monday morning) These pics were taken last week at 201. I figure I'd be bold and show my face.....and by the way, no I didn't purposely wear the same shorts again LOL


Looking any leaner?

Thanks for the responses, guys. I thought I was looking better, but it helps to get others' views. I've noticed what you have, leaner chest, stomach, ribs and I've recently noticed my arms and legs getting more vascular

Thanks, the funny thing is I don't do anything specifically for my traps. No shrugs, not even side delt raises. I'm not sure where they come from LOL.

I've struggled to find a right balance with my diet. Right now I'm having good luck with approximately 40% protein 40% carbs 20% fat. I also make sure my saturated fat is under 7% and my carbs are good carbs (fruits, vegetables, and whole grains)

I haven't had a single taste of junk food, fast food, sweets, pizza or alcohol for about 3 months and I don't even miss it. If I go somewhere for the day I take a small cooler with my "baby food" as I call it. I may never cheat, but it isn't even an option until I get to where I want to get.

This makes it possible to get a rather high protein intake 290-300 grams and high fiber intake (you have to worry about that when you're ancient in your 30's like me...especially when you eat a lot of protein.)

I just looked at a pic of myself the other day from when I weighed 227 and thought damn, how could my wife not tell me I was such a ******?!
I get that big, fat Ted Kennedy face thing going on when I gain too much weight

When my wife was pregnant with our 2 kids and started putting on a lot of weight I promised her I would make sure she never outweighed me and I kept my promise By the way she has kicked ass since then and weighs less than when I met her. She did weight watcher's. I respect them more than most of the "diet" plans out there. It's basically just a simplified way to count calories..and now she eats clean with me on top of that.

if you do deadlifts(i bet you do) and chinups, your traps are worked well as synergists(pullups) or stabilizers(deadlifts).

so you were doing something for traps. isolation is not neccisary for growth in most cases.
