New kid on the block here.

The name's J and I just started to get into weight training, and by get into I mean I don't really know anything.

I'm 22, 6'2", and weigh 160 lbs.

I used to be a lazy guy but over the past few months I've got pretty active. I ride my bike about five hours a day (except weekends), skate a lot, and I boxed for a few years (though now I just practice on the bag).

I've never had a problem with my weight or health. I don't have much endurance when it comes to weight training or even calisthetics (can't even spell the damn word). I always thought that was kind of odd though since I could always run, ride, and box for hours. You'd think that a few years of boxing would do more for me but the truth is I ****y footed around a lot of the excercise that didn't involve bag reps or shadow boxing. I made due with good reach, good hits, and being faster and more agile than most people so I thought "why bother" with anything else.

I'm interested in putting on some muscle and I have no idea where to start. Good thing I found this place though, looks like I could learn a lot here.

Ha, I know how you feel. Welcome to the site. The search bar is always helpful, there are literally hundreds of pages on bulking up.

I'm not so worried about "bulking up". I don't want to do the whole bulgy muscles thing. I just want to put on some lean muscle and flesh out a little. I do the occasional model job and for the most part it works fine for me but I got a remark about needing "a touch more muscle" so that's what I want.

I want noticable muscle but not so much that muscle is all someone notices.
