Wink newbe

hello, just stoping by to say me hello and give a little info on my self. I have come here to try to get my self back inshape. I am a point in my life where I want to look good, kinda back like my high school days. I have always been a bigger guy, not fat, just big framed. But now after the married life and 3 year old sone I have seem to let mweight get away from me.

I am up to 230lbs and to me looks like all fat, my waist has went from a 34 to a 38. Befor i got married I was always around 190-200 lbs and was very happy with my looks. ( flat stomache and no love handles) Not that way any more. So I hope I have come to the right place to tone back up.

I have started by watching my calories, I never realized how many I have been eating thru out a days time. I have limited my self to Under 1200 a day, and with in 1 1/2 weeks time I have lost 6 pounds. But cant tell that any body mass lost.

I have started joging, sit-ups and push up. I am looking for some help to keep me motivated, and tips on how to burn FAT!

Thanks!!

There are a lot of tips, "stickies", on this board. Read through them. 1200 calories is not much more than what concentration camp victims were given and is downright healthy for a person of your size and is actually counterproductive to losing weight because it causes your body to be extremely frugal and efficient with its caloric intake.

Also, eat 5 - 6 smaller meals per day and don't skip any meals.

Finally, a mix of watching your calories, weight training and cardio is generally the preferred weight loss, muscle gain formula.

Ok thanks.

When I was trying to go to a diet place here in town they said to keep a calorie intake of 1500 or less, then they told me if I want to drop weight faster eat less calories. I didn't know better.

To Harley Sr,

Reducing your calories is good. You started something, great.
Like Harv Ecker says, "Ready, Fire, Aim." Some knowledge and a
lot of action is the key. You can adjust as you go. Kudos.

1. Calories 1550-1850.
2. Meals 3, plus 2 snacks per day
3. Protien = 1.2-1.4 grams per kilo of future body weight
sooo, 109 grams of protein per day.
4. weight training and cardio every other day, 3-4 times
per week.

P.S. I went through the same thing about ten years ago.

Go for it,
PG
