5-7 Meal Guide

Hey guys I usually wake up and eat around seven in the morning. So i'm trying to eat 5-7 meals 2-3 hours apart(trying to go for 3 beause I read somewhere it was better not sure if true though). Anyways i find myself haveing to cut an hour here and an hour there because i read around in the forums and many people say not to eat after 8p.m how do you think i can satify both requirements? Also why is it bad to eat after 8?

No problem with eating at night if you haven't meet your calorie needs or you have trained. However, it should be protein and healthy fats unless its post workout nutrition which should include carbs and protein.

I'm on the same schedule. I eat small every 2 to 3 hours. I walk in the evening after eating light at approx. 6:30. I'm usually not hungry after that. I drink a cup of hot tea or eat an orange if I need something. If you have banked your daily calories, go for it, eat up!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that eating (too much) in the evening/night is bad. Why? Because you aren't going to be burning those calories... once you go to sleep, they pretty much turn to fat.

Granted, if it's light or something, it's not going to instantly make you five pounds fatter, but still..

you do burn calories when you sleep.

you gain weight by eating more calories than you burn off each day on a consistent basis. this myth about not eating at night came about from those who hit the drive thru on the way home from work then camp out in front of the TV eating cakes, cookies, chips, etc

do not go to bed hungry. a good meal before bed when your body begins to repair and recuperate is wise

I'm well aware that you burn calories when you sleep (heh, I usually lose about two pounds every night) but you burn less sleeping than when you're awake! I mean, think about it - when you're awake, your body does stuff like stand, walk, think, etc. (Okay, I know that your brain still functions in your sleep and stuff like that, but you know what I mean.)

I'm just saying that if you wanted to make one meal slightly larger than any other, it shouldn't be in the evening.
