Another Protein Powder Question

So, I've decided that I just can't consume the amount of protein I need in a day without resorting to protein powder. However, I just can't seem to stomach the stuff. On the container, it says you can just mix it with water or juice and drink it. I just tried to mix it with water and nearly lost my lunch after two sips. Is it normal for it to taste this bad?

I have been making shakes out of frozen fruit and orange juice and mixing protein powder in to it. I can handle this, but it's not desirable because I have to drink a huge shake that fills me up just to get 20 grams of protein.

So, is there a more efficient way to take protein powder rather than making a big shake, and is there a better tasting way than just mixing it with water?

It's Trader Joe's soy protein powder with added vitamins. No flavor added.
