I recently purchased Whey Protein for the first time ever, as this is week one of my new workout routine. I wanted to get something on a budget, so they had a 2LB container of Body Fortress Super Advance Whey Protein for $14. I went with the Cookies & Cream flavor and must admit that for being a no-name company, I really like the taste of it. 2 scoops of it is equal to 52 grams of protein, I usually use 1 heaping scoop before my workout, as I just read a study where they found that your body builds more protein synthesis if you take a shake before a workout, rather than after. Any of you guys ever try this Body Fortress stuff from Walmart?

I do, because it’s fast easy and inexpensive. I’m also always at Wal-Mart. But I found 5lbs of whey at BJs for $28 so you get an extra pound of whey for the same price.
Also pick up casein from GNC, sometimes mix a scoop of it with a scoop of BF.

if you keep your eyes open (slickdeals.com is awesome) you should have no problem spotting deals on higher quality whey at around the same or even cheaper price than the Body Fortress
my 5lb ON 100% cost only $33 shipped on amazon which is a cheaper price per pound

In the UK body fortress whey is just rebadged US Nutrition Met-RX

Whatever is cheap and taste good is fine. So if that's what works for you, then great. The whole pre vs. post workout nutrition thing is still "under review," but I personally feel that if you must choose one, pre is more important.

I have to disagree with buying ANYTHING from GNC unless you absolutely have to under time constraints or other issues. That place is a nightmare. None of the employees really know what they're talking about, they always push to buy other crap that you don't want and they know you don't need, and it's really overpriced.

I use Body Fortress whey. At Meijer its only 11 bucks for a 2lb container.
Not sure if you have Meijer stores where you are or not.

Yeah, Wal-Mart has it for 12-13 most times...
