What are you trying to do?
Gain or lose weight?
If your trying to gain, try both with a banana!
If your trying to lose weight, try the protein shake with a low fat cereal, i think the best ive seen is special k sustain! keeps hunger at bay big time!

I'd personally go with a balanced meal like eggs, wheat toast and fruit. Just my .02 cents.

Thanks guys I dont want to lose weight as I am pretty tiny, but I am trying to turn any fat to muscle. I am pretty tight all over problem area is abs which i am concentrating on now with crunches and using weight.

I know I needed to change my diet for abs which I am doing eating more protein and avoiding bad foods. I was just wondering what was best for breakfast and also should i use protein as a meal replacement or an added extra? Also should I use creatine to train longer?

I am worried about using to many supplements could they be bad for you?

That's why I mentioned eating a balanced meal for breakfast. A protein suppliment shake is just that "a suppliment" when you are not getting enough nutrients from regular food sources. If a protein shake makes sense for you to drink inthe morning because you don't have time to make a meal or that's when you work out- then yeah it'll be perfect. Just don't replace a bunch of protein shakes for whole foods.

I drink a protein shake after every workout for muscle recovery and THEN have a balanced meal so it does have it's place.

My vote goes with Waitwhat's advice.

Breakfast is literally to break the fast of not eating for the past 8-10 hours or more. If you are trying to gain lean muscle, you need to fuel your body properly after the longest fast of the day. That's why it is the most important meal.

When you say you're doing crunches and using weight, what kind of weight training are you doing? You probably know you can't spot reduce fat off your abs, so you need to be sure you're doing a full body workout.
