| I want to say yes. My weight has gone up. But can you guess what has gone up? My waist size remains the same (32 ~ 33 in.).
I've been tracking my weight lifting and running and swimming. And I have noticed that since I've been eating a 90-10 rule (I eat roughly 5 meals a day, 2x before 12, 1x before work out, 1x post work out, 1x dinner), I've found myself stronger, faster, and better than I've ever been. For weights, I've been able to improve my bench, squats and deadlifts. Overall, it seems I've gained strength. I've been drinking milk w/ whey protein after working out, and I notice this increase my strength. I've been also able to do more pullups than I've ever been. Overall, I feel my strength has increased.
As for running and swimming, I've noticed I'm capable of sustaining longer runs and swims. I've noticed that I'm capable of running 6 miles non-stop in roughly 40~50 minutes. I also noticed that my usual 11 floor stair steps (I do this twice at work every day), I'm able to run up the steps, two steps at a time, without exhaustion through the whole 11 floors, 2x a day.
As for my mind, I'm at peace. I'm not constantly thinking of food, and I've found myself eating more fruits and veggies than I had been. I'm also eating plenty of good protein sources, and a mixture of other goodies. As far as junk food, I noticed I don't eat it quite as often as I probably make you think. I do have loads of junk food, and other food that one might consider "bad." Most of them spans for more than 3 weeks once I buy them. I observe that when I have things, I don't constantly think about it. My guess is, that my personality is that of when I want things I don't have. It seems this way for anything. If I have something, I stop thinking about it, and I rarely use it, lol. I don't know why I'm like that though. So maybe my theory won't work for everyone, but I'm sure it would work for most.
Overall, I must say that since my "renewal" of nutrition, I've found myself faster, stronger, and better than ever. Have I gained weight? Probably. But I threw away my scale, so I really cannot honestly say how much weight I've gained.
