Yesturday I had a day off so went for a ride on my mountain bike with a mate. We departed at about 10.30am and rode till 4pm, with 2 breaks of about 20-30mins. The riding was a variation of hard uphill, cruisy (but technical!) downhill, and some pedally single track.
The problem is, here's what I ate all day (before a dinner of chicken/rice/vegetables):
Breakfast: Banana and milk smoothie
Lunch: Ham and cheese bagel
I wasnt hungry at all, and was too busy riding to stop for food. I know I'm supposed to eat a lot more than this, but I really wasn't feeling hungry or weak - and this is often what happens during a day of exercize for me. Should I just not worry about it? Or is it a big concern? Any advice?
just because you aren't hungry, doesn't mean your body doesn't need nutrients.
when I used to do a.m. cardio on an empty stomach, by the time i was done, I wasn't hungry. something about exercise can kinda shut off that hunger response. can't really eat and run can we
that much aerobic exercise will need some carbs to keep you going as strong as you should (and to keep you from feeling a little wiped out the next day).
