Good LATE night snack?

What is something decent to eat at night when you are absoultly starving and cannot sleep without having a bite to eat? For whatever reason I was dieing of hunger tonight, and its like 11 at night. And Im completely wired. I taught 2 step classes today, you would think I would be exhausted, but no way, I feel like I could teach 2 more back to back right now. for a snack, I ended up eating a whole wheat low carb pita with about a tablespoon of peanut butter. I still feel like I could eat another one. Is that an okay snack to eat late at night? Or is there something better?

You should grab a bite to eat 2 - 3 hours before bedtime so you don't go to bed feeling very hungry. Also drinking a glass of water helps to alleviate hunger pangs. It usually goes away after a while.

But the most important step in stopping night-time hunger is actually eating a large morning breakfast earlier in the day.

I do all those things. My diary is posted with everything I eat. I eat very healthy, and excercise alot, and lead an active lifestyle at both my jobs. I dont usually get this hungry or wired late at night. I wonder if I just didnt consume enough calories today for the activity level of today and now its catching up to me.

Man, don't get me started on peanuts!! They used to be my biggest vice and one of the main reasons I was overweight (along with beer ) - I only eat them on cheat days now and, only ever buy one small bag because, once I get started, I find it very, very hard to stop!! lol

Personally, I eat lowfat greek yoghurt at night (about 100 - 150g) with a scoop of protein mixed in (tastes fantastic!!) and maybe a sprinkling of raisins or sultanas. Sure, there are a few carbs in the yoghurt and raisins but, overall, its a good high protien snack.
