Healthy Food in Scotland?

Hey all, I'm American but I just moved to Scotland for five months. I am having the hardest time finding my normal healthy grocery items over here! I'm in a really small town. I spent about an hour at the grocery store and all I came away with were chicken breasts (even these were hard to find, most are breaded over here), eggs, oats (called porridge?), and some fruit.

If anyone is from the UK, or has been there, could you let me know where/how you shop?

Things I can't find:
-Powerbars, beef jerkey, and other healthy snacks
-Whey protein!!!!!!
-Lactaid milk
-Lean beef (like ground beef, top sirloin, etc.)
-Fish fillets (preferably frozen)
-100% whole wheat bread (is "wholemeal" the same as 100% whole wheat?)
-Peanut butter!!!!!!

Thanks for the help!

"Wholemeal" in British usage for whole grain.

I am on the East coast, in the town of Carnoustie, about 10 miles from Dundee. I'm doing an internship at the golf links and I'll be here until October.

Scotland isn't so bad, although it has a terrible reputation for poor health. Most of Scotland is covered by the big supermarkets Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons. Find your nearest big supermarket and do your weekly shop there. Google Tesco store locator, there is a Tesco in DUNDEE MONIFIETH which is about 5 miles from you. You can get all your healthy options there.

You can also find Health Food Shops in the bigger towns.

Let me know if you need any other specific translations.

Thanks so much for the help! I will try to get to Tescos and a health food shop tomorrow. Great to know they exist here!
