| | | I <3 Oatmeal! It is not uncommon for me to eat it twice a day! Plain old oatmeal with water! Who knew?
I am cutting fat atm and aiming for 6 meals of 380 calories. Anyways, frequently for breakfast I will have a big bowl of oatmeal (2 servings; 300calories) with 100 calories of whey protein (= currently strawberry =) as a drink on the side. It is a super quick breakfast and from what I can tell a healthy start to my day.
Would you say this is acceptable to use whey protein as a supplement like this every day for breakfast with my TASTY PLAIN OATMEAL?!?! mmMmMmm
But seriously, any thoughts? Is this too simple of a meal to start the day off? Should I add more whole foods with less of my calories coming from my beloved oatmeal? |

| | | oatmeal is uber Dude, oatmeal is like the uber food.
It is cheap, easy to make, and is good for you.
I take a serving and heat it with water, cover it with a 1/4 cup of vanilla soy and stir in a few squirts of lite maple syrup.
200 calories and uber tasty.
I usually will have a piece of fruit or two along with it with a cup of tea to start my day. |

I'd actually shoot for some eggs in the morning to get your protein from. Whole food sources are infinintely better tahn processed powders. |

If you are eating organic oatmeal, I think you're fine. If it's that instant stuff, you might want to think about going organic. |

| | | Yes, as long as it is regular oats, rolled or steel cut, then I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better carbohydrate to start the day. Oats are one of the best foods you can eat, so much fiber it's incredible. |

| | Oatmeal and eggs, By far my favorite quick and easy breakfast .
You can place any type of super food, protein powder and so on directly into the oatmeal (make sure to stir it well) as well and just about not taste it at all. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
